Thinking of getting a HTC Wildfire -- what are the pro's and cons??
I've currently got a Samsung Jet - pretty crap really, as it was one of the 1st touchscreen phones, so it's pretty outdated already
Im upgrading tomorrow and Im thinking of getting a HTC Wildfire -- Has anyone got one, and if so what are the pro's and cons?? |

Pros: HTC Sense interface - I prefer this skin on Android to anything else.
Cons: Small screen, slower processor and less RAM make the experience ok at best. |

Pros
- cheap - small size (I don't like the trend to ever bigger phones) - Decent camera Cons - fairly slow - poor battery life (though fairly typical of other HTC phones) - screen resolution average If it's your first smartphone and you are on a budget then it's a good choice as an introduction to the Android world. As long as you don't want to be playing fancy games and watching HD video then it's fine. |

I keep toying with a similar idea. I suppose the obvious choice at that price level is between the Wildfire and the Galaxy Ace?

For a more balanced view...Techradar Wildfire review. It has a pro's and con's section at the end.

My Wildfires mic packed up rather quickly. The screen resoloution makes app compatabality lower than other phones.

The Orange San Francisco (ZTE Blade) is a better option.

I bought one just over a week ago and am yet to find a serious problem with it. Most apps will work on it, as long as you don't want to play power and graphic intensive racing games like need for speed and the suchlike.
The camera is pretty good, battery life is a little disappointing but I expected that with a smart phone, the apps and internet load at a respectable speed, and it plays flash content. As my first entry into the smart phone/android market, I'm very happy with it. I got mine through mobiles.co.uk, with a monthly line rental redemption of 13 months free on 18 month contract. 600 minutes 500 texts, unlimited internet on T-Mobile (the 3G share with Orange seems to be moving forward well according to another thread on here, although currently the signal is good) with a bit of topcashback it works out as £120 over 18 months! |

You can get an Xperia X8 for £60 PAYG so why even think about the small resolution Wildfire?
At a minimum get the Wildfire S which competes against the X8. |

had a standard wildfire for while and tbh I found it a great phone. Its plenty fast enough for novice user and screen resolution is fine considering the small size of the screen. Its also small enough to nicely fit in your pocket.
But the one thing that really stood out is HTC Sense interface. Miles ahead of anything else I have used including iphones. |
