One thing about DC Thompson is that giants of the comics world John Wagner, Pat Mills and Alan Grant all started their careers in comics as editors for the company

What? Maybe DC, but NOT DC Thomson! DC Thomson are the publishers of The Beano, The Dandy, The BeanoMax, Commando, The Sunday Post, The Weekly News and formerly The Beezer, The Topper, The Sparky, The Nutty, The Cracker, The Buzz, The Plug, The Magic, Fun Size Beano, Fun Size Dandy and Classics from the Comics.

John Wagner and Pat Mills were sub-editors and Alan Grant was an editor for DC Thomson

I used to read The Dandy as a child.I saw a copy of it recently and Harry Hill was on the front cover??!!! wtf??
He became the Dandy's new lead star when it revamped last year. Desperate Dan usually occupies the back cover though.
Well this just about sums up the fail approach to keeping these comics alive. What a disaster.

They need to make an iPad edition!

I used to love the Dandy but growing up it didn`t hold my attention as well as so many other things did, especially U.S comics which I still buy from time to time.
They do, both the Beano and Dandy are on the newsstand.

Perhaps merging the Beano and The Dandy would be an idea. How are Beano sales these days?

To be fair, that only launched a couple of weeks ago.

Also, good news for the Harry Hill haters, after the next issue of The Dandy, he's gone.
