It has been an utter disaster. We can only hope that C5 and Endemol take a hard look at all aspects of the show, listen to the fans and supporters and learn from them and the basic mistakes. Then they should work towards putting on a much better show next year

CBB did very well; everyone's forgotten about the Live Feed now.

I agree, it has been really good! I personally think CBB was totally boring, and I gave up watching after about the first week. I think a lot of people just wanted to hate BB12 and find fault, a lot of people are overdoing the whole 'no Live Feed' thing, and then there's people like me who often don't watch the show on the night it's on, but catch it on Demand 5 next day. I wonder if they take that into account!??

Well said; comparing CBB8 to BB12; BB12 has been amazing and has blown CBB out of the water. I feel sorry for C5 though, they should have higher viewing figures for such a brilliant series.
Next series, they may change the format again to something similar to BB11; putting in a bunch of bores instead of a bunch of interesting & entertaining housemates.

The Daily Mail is about a week late with the story - it dipped below a million on Saturday 17th September - 10 days ago now, which in TV terms is a long time. Part of the reason for this I think was BB was pushed really late due to the boxing, which was plagued with technical problems that caused Channel 5 to fall off air in some regions.
More recently, the ratings for Rebeckah's eviction were poor and well down on Tashie's, but every night for the past 3 nights it's been up on the previous week, so currently the numbers are trending in the right direction.
It's definitely NOT a disaster as things stand. Disappointing yes, but not a disaster. There is a decent enough loyal audience there it would appear, even if it's not massive in terms of its size. And I for one am loving this series.

Exactly - I was SO happy when I watched this launch show and saw relatively normal, everyday people going in! I'd been getting more and more fed up with Channel 4s offerings the last few years. I just hope Ch5 don't revert to that.

Well thank you for this post Dancc; you've made me feel a lot better. I know you shouldn't let viewing figures get you down, but it really has with me this year, because I've really enjoyed it so far and to think C5 may consider this a disaster is so wrong

Same here; I could see myself meeting people like Jay, Alex, Faye or even Rebeckah in my everyday life; but people like Rachael, John James, Shabby or any of those from last year? They were like cartoon characters to me
Well, when C5 film the entire show but only put about 1.5% of it on TV for BB fans to watch, what do they expect. It could have been great but the way C5 have acted they don't seem to want people to tune in to their channels

I wish the million plus viewers who stayed away would come back. There's a good show going on inside the House.

... what's really worrying though is that if the downward trend continues they're more likely to decide it was because they put in normal housemates than that they forgot that the essence of the show was indeed the live feed ... dread to think what horrors they'll unearth next year to try and get the shock factor back ...

I really don't know if this is the end. But if C5 continue with their inexplicable war on the long time fans, then yes, without doubt. They seem determined to do everything to piss off the long term viewers.

To be honest this series hasn't been bad it's been far better than I thought it would have been.....CBB imo have a far wider range of viewer's than "Normal BB!
I am in favour of Livefeed as i'm sure people have seen by my comment's I don't think people can just dismiss the lack of livefeed as not having any affect on the viewing figures....If there was only the 300 hundrend thousand wachting Livefeed for example that's a awful lot of people swiching off... You can spin this anyway you want to but it still remain's channel 5 are losing viewer's fast...They need to swollw their pride & look harshly at what they have done wrong & try & get people watching again...You only have to look at this Forum it's Dead, Usually ds is buzzing with all manner of subject's Day & Night...Now it's just the same thread's spouting the same old rubbish....Day after day after Day...The Facebook addition they invented is a flop apart from being able to vote slightly cheaper! No one is discussing bb on there or anywhere else for that matter...So come on let's stop blaming the fan's for swiching off let's address why they have switched off & put it right!! Channel 5 i'm sure do care & want this show to be agreat succsess & it could be just that...
