There will certainly be 2 less viewers than last week, because my wife and I have stopped watching. We didn't watch any of last night's show and we won't be watching tonight.
We don't want to see a fortnight of romance.

I'm surprised the highlights had more viewers last night than the previous Saturday.

I don't know whether other people share our opinion. The ratings over the next week will tell us.

anyone reading the tv ratings thread about XF its interesting reading how its being compared do how BB found itsself facing a downward spiral.

Definatly in BB8 negative press was more active and ratings were beginning to slowly drop after some dodgey twists in the 7th season ((and the race row couldt have helped either im sure))

and it just so happens XF is now in its 8th season too and most talk iv read about the season so far has been kinda negative

the 7th XF was beginnning to gather alot of fix talk just like BB7

It will be interesting to see what will happen of course XF is still a huge show and 10mill is nothing to laugh at but will it drop any more me personally I HOPE IT DOES!!

I too would love to see X Factor go the same way as BB ratings-wise, but sadly it won't happen for a long time. Big Brother used to be big, but never as huge as XF has unfortunately turned out to be. It will be a long long time before the X Factor ratings sink to cancellation levels

I'm not. But I read that he absolutely hates being referred to as a pornographer, so that's how I always refer to him now. Petty, I know

There's not really any kind of positive spin you can put on 907,000 viewers

No doubt someone will use the old "it beat C4"" ratings boost. Could you imagine if someone had said a couple of years ago BB would get ratings of below even a million! I think people would laugh it off to be fair.

Doesn't tell us anything we don't already know. Stats are disappointing but steady and Saturday should probably be axed

Cool graphs. Look at how consistent it's been across the run, a very encouraging sign.

The Saturday problem was inherited from Channel 4. They need to have a think about how they can address that for any future series.

One option might be to move it earlier in the evening to catch the younger viewers before they head out for the night and carry an uncut repeat later in the night on 5*. Or perhaps cut the Saturday episode altogether and extend Sunday's edition to include Saturday highlights.

Note that Sunday's overnight ratings for ALL broadcasters have been delayed until further notice. I hope to have news for you on how Sunday's show performed later this afternoon.

Doubtful. With less than 2 weeks to go now and given the incredible consistency we've seen so far across the run I'd imagine most of the audience will see it through to its conclusion.

Numbers will probably be down a bit a few nights this week due to half term being over, but I'm expecting a strong end to the week with the 90 minute eviction show. With the last half an hour against low rating 'Pete Vs Life' on Channel 4, I'm expecting the highest rating eviction since Tashie in week 2. This could help make up for any declines for the Tue, Wed and Thu shows.

I believe so. I've noticed also these BARB data delays often tend to coincide with holidays and today is Halloween.

So the 'technical' problem is that 'technically' they all had too much beer the night before?

Latest official data is out for week of October 17 - October 23. Firstly, starting with the main show:

Quote:
“BIG BROTHER (FRI 2100) 1.72
BIG BROTHER (THU 2214) 1.59
BIG BROTHER (WED 2200) 1.58
BIG BROTHER (TUE 2200) 1.51
BIG BROTHER (MON 2200) 1.50
BIG BROTHER (SUN 2100) 1.43
BIG BROTHER (FRI 2301) 1.41
BIG BROTHER (SAT 2154) 1.10 <-- series low, this was the episode that contained massive recap”

Sunday and Tuesday shows were up week-on-week, Friday's 1st eviction show was unchanged on previous week, and the other episodes were down.

Meanwhile Bit on the Side achieved its best ever figures including Celeb BB on 5* for its edition on Wednesday 19th October:

Quote:
“BIG BROTHER'S BIT ON THE SIDE (WED 2259) 429k inc. +1”

So it peaked in week 7 and and had a poor weekend.

Good afternoon.

Ratings beginning to trickle out at last. 1.27m / 4.7% for Sunday's show. Highest in 4 weeks.

Monday provided less good news however:

22:00- Big Brother: 1.28m (7.1%)
23:00- Big Brother's Bit On The Side: 488k (5.3%)

Source: DS.

Surprised at how low those are. I thought the Halloween theme and the face-to-face nominations would have been a bigger draw.

It did beat Channel 4's new drama Top Boy which launched to an audience of 1.13m (6.5%). But it was well behind a resurgent Never Mind The Buzzcocks with 1.68m (8.4%).

People at Halloween parties or afraid of more rigging I would assume

Not very good for the last round of nominations for this series

Wonder if that's the lowest rating for a Monday show so far this series, with one more Monday show to come

It's not quite the lowest, but pretty close. The episode on October 17th had 1.26m (7%).

so the casual viewers are doing what they do best
remaining casual and watching something else
maybe half term did have an effect on ratings
