And hopefully with some live feed.

I watched none of this series ... and have not really missed it (nobody talking about it at work either)

But I would be glued if there was live feed ... and not shut up about it either

disappointing ratings overall.

Dissapointing but the time of year, editorial and production problems are something they can go back to fixing for BB13. BB13 will be make or break year in my opinion but at least next year it's back in the summer which should help. As for CBB in January it should probably do rather well. Anyone know the series average??

I felt it was worth more than that.

that's what they do when the ratings nose dive
babble on about the 16-34's
channel 4 did the same

Only the overnights, the officials should add a fair amount on.

All that ultimately matters to Channel 5 though is the number of 16-34s watching. That is what advertising sports are sold based on for BB, not people aged 40+. In that respect, BB has helped C5 increase their 16-34 share a lot compared to before. Probably not as much as they might've been hoping for before the series started but the article is factually correct - there has been a big increase in that key demo for that slot year-on-year.

they were hoping for higher overall ratings and a higher 16-34 figure
they started from a low base so 16-34's were going to improve regardless of the success or failure of big brother 12

the 2 million mark was what they expected for the normal H.L show.
I do agree with the other poster that said 2012 is going to be make or break.IMHO its going to break Bigbrother.

they aired the show and within weeks huge flaws were present they didnt even attempt to fix.

1.Towie Edits not working
2.Live coverage
3.Hm's not based on an Agents Book
4.The no contact with the outside world as to be restored.
5.A full review of the Editing process and how the h/l shows are put together

Poor ratings overall.

C5 may claim that this season was a success but this show is a mere shadow of itself. It's a bit sad but I think the producers have made a lot of mistakes and misjudged how angry former devotees reacted to the lack of live feed, corner cutting and the general amateurishness of the production.

I really hope they can get things right for next year.

Don't they need to maintain those levels though?

Once the BB viewers go away, well they go away.
Or do they?
Is it dependent on how many of those viewers stick around for other shows, and how likely will that be?

Does the level of those viewers translate into a sustainable impact in the long term? Or do they dwindle away back to where they were when BB isn't on?
Damien.

Happy it made 2m, but hopefully we never have to see that kind of rating again for a final.

Depends if they advertise CBB9 and BB13 on other channels again like CBB8.
