Scratching a screen with nails?

I have just bought an Orange San Francisco (ZTE Blade) which I think has a Plastic Screen. It is a really really good phone but I am worried if I touch it with my nail I will scratch the screen. Also worried in case tapping too hard will brake the Digitizer.

There are pros and cons to everything.

Some reckon plastic screens are far more robust so on a budget phone it is thus a better choice.

My so called gorillaglass phone has plenty of scratches. Ok, it will survive constant stabbings with a ball point pen and not get even a tiny blemish, but get some dust or worse still a grain of sand in your pocket and you are going to get scratches all over it.

In four years of owning an iPhone I never got a single scratch on the screen and that with no screen protector. I am now on a SGS2 with Gorilla glass and since buying it has not suffered any scratches. The only precautions I take is to make sure it doesn't go into pockets with change or keys....
