jennifer lopez love? a dissapoinment
I couldn't wait to get this album after waiting four years since brave however I wish I hadn't bothered.
Here's why love could have been a great album with more dance tracks like on the floor or papi. Instead there's all these dire slow/mid tempo songs. Not ballads not quite hip hop it's such a shame especially when invading my mind and hypnotico are so good. Lady ga ga and redone should have written the whole album. L.A Reid is not as good as he thinks he is as a record exeuctive if he was he should have demanded better material. |

I didn't like it and the sales speak for it's self
JLO isn't an album artist imo. She does good songs and i can't wait for a GH one day |

Well, in all honesty, J Lo is just not the type of artist that you would expect a masterpiece from.As long as she has 2-3 good singles and a nice flow throughout the album, then the era is fine.I own the album and I think that it's solid and her best work since J Lo.I think those songs that you mentioned are what makes the album different from just a basic pop/dance album. It has decent and more versatile lyrics than the average club cd and it still manages to be cohesive with many different songs and melodies, which is a very good thing.
(What you said about L.A. Reid was irrelevant. He doesn't handpick the songs and he doesn't even personally listen to them until weeks before release to say "yes" or "no".Her team handles all the tracks and they are responsible.Did you really think that L.A. Reid listens to 15-20 tracks a day to decide which J Lo will record???Nope!) |

Like the above poster has said, Jennifer Lopez has never actively sought to make a masterpiece album to date, it's not her style. If she can wrangle 2-3 good tracks as singles then in her, and probably her labels eyes the era is a success.
From a fan point of view, I agree with the OP, it is to an extent a bit frustrating that the album is on the lacklustre side after the epic greatness that is the first, single On the Floor. I love her dance songs on the album, On the Floor, Papi, Hypnotico, Invading My Mind, Charge Me Up and I'm Into You and I also like Good Hit, other than that nothing screams out to me as hit material and it's all too average for me. I suppose a J Lo album is a bit like a pick'n'mix, you find the songs you like and leave the rest behind. |

Her albums are always going to be weak, but god help us when her Greatest Hits drops. That's going to be amazing.

`Good Hit' is ****ing dire! Whose brilliant idea was it to make that track number two on the listing?

I wouldn't say it was a disappointment, but a few songs sound the same. My top five on on the floor, papi, i'm into you, hypnotico and starting over. I agree with one of the posters above, looking forward to a GH.
