Three HSPA+ dongle youtube review
Thine Wonk

Meh, not very good speeds but an interesting Youtube from somebody I subscribe to doing a demo of the new HSPA+ dongle.

I think the speeds will vary from area to area and will get better when the Virgin Media backhaul helps increase the network speeds. 5Mbps not bad, but not brilliant for HSPA+

Wow, sorry I just watched the video again, 9.61 Mbps on the 1st test!!

That's pretty amazing. I want one now...

The only thing putting me off is if I'm in a HSPA+ area or not? PAYG users can get HSPA+ with an everyday dongle for £20/£20.99 depending on the retailer now.

I only recently upgraded from a HSDPA dongle which I had from 2008 to a HSPA ZTE earlier in the year though, which is typical!

80% of the Three network will be HSPA+ within 3 months, the remaining 20% very soon after that.

Browsing here in Clacton with HSPA+ allthough the download speeds still seem to be sitting at around 1Mbps. Seems to be a bit of congestion round here at peak times.
The other day however at Gatwick Airport I was browsing on HSPA+ on three and hit 10.5Mbps download
It would seem they are rolling out HSPA+ quickly!
Does anyone know if its just a case of a Software upgrade at each mast or is there more work required?

I reviewed this for What Mobile and got nearly 13Mbps on a train!

I am suitably impressed with the dongle, and expect the HSPA+ MiFi to be as good; with the benefit of connecting to multiple devices, but needing to be kept charged up (and, if the original MiFi is anything to go by, battery life of only 2-3 hours in some cases).
