I was just on YouTube and came across a video of the current Sugababes lineup performing their first ever single 'Overload'. Now I'm not familiar with the details of the court case that was going on etc and the whole drama with the lineup change etc. All I really know is that Jade replaced Keisha. So can someone with better knowledge explain how the current lineup are allowed to perform that track when none of them sang on it originally? Just seems a bit out of order to me. If I were one fo the originals I'd be fuming.

I think you are right! The Sugababes (as a band) should have ended with Keishas forced departure. She was the best one!

I preferred the original line up and didn't actually mind Heidi either. But when Mutya left it all went downhill for me.

NOT AGAIN!!!!Give them a break, guys!!
1)NOONE complained when Keisha made Amelle re-record ALL the Sugababes songs and made a Greatest Hits without Mutya but instead had Amelle who had been a member for less than a year to put vocals on all the Sugababes classics!NOBODY minded then.

2)Heidi is responsible for the Sugababes brand as well and if it wasn't for her, all of those 4.0 haters wouldn't even know who the Sugababes are.

3)If you cannot listen to their music without Mutya and Keisha then how come NOBODY is checking for their solo music??The YouTube views for Mutya's and Keisha's new material are beyond embarassing.

4)It's very bizzare that people didn't mind Sugababes 3.0 singing 1.0 songs just because of Keisha, yet they choose to forget that Keisha had the concept for 'Sweet 7' and partly 'Catfights', which were the 2 albums that weakened their reputation, altered their image and ruined their back catalogue. If anything, 'Freedom' sounds much more 'Sugababes' than anything 3.0 did, so since hardly anyone attacked 3.0, then you should give 4.0 a break as well.

And I agree that them singing 'Overload' looks weird, but just give them a break and let them perform whatever they want!

people have a right to express their opinions on this vocal group. i had to laugh at this quote for their new single review on ds.

`many are forgetting that the revolving lineup is as much a part of their tradition as their ability to produce top notch music`. the first part maybe true. however, it adds nothing to their credibility. the second part is not so factually correct, they produce nothing. although, they are listed as co-writers on this track.

The girls with the line-up they have now, are barely just managing to pull it off as a tribute act to the original Sugababes.

Firstly, if they want to perform it, they can.

Secondly, you're lying.

Current line-up have never performed the song.

Well their record label owns all the Sugababes back catalogue. They will perform whatever the label tells them, like how most labels manage their artists. I am sure Keisha Mutya and Siobhan won't mind anyway as they get royalties every time the new group performs the old songs.

If rumours are to be believed, the Sugababes are no more.
Jade has "quit".

& as for 4.0 performing songs by 1.0, no one gave a toss when 2.0 did it. & 3.0.
People go on about "oh they aren't the real Sugababes anymore", well they weren't with the second line-up change.

The court case, I think, was to do with stationary. & not the music.

It would be helpful if you could state which part of my comment you were referring to. Or was it all of it?

Jade's Twitter:
- Wow! So who started this rumour guys?? The only place this Sugababe is going is to the studio with the girls to work on our new album!

considering the original "babes" wrote it..maybe they get some money for the performance?? (do the writers need to be paid for live performances?)

so it isnt all bad for them if that is the case

Ultimately, tribute bands rake in cash for their betters so I doubt Keisha, Siobhan or Mutya will be too bothered...

I think Siobhan was by far the most talented member the group ever had, with Keisha close behind. I like Heidi but I've always missed Siobhan.

It's criminal that Siobhan did not find success as a solo artist. Her two albums are absolute top quality.

It won't be anywhere on YouTube, Vevo, Daily Motion or any other video sharing site because quite simply.. it doesn't exist..! The group have said in the past they wouldn't be singing songs from the original line-up..!

After two years, people should be over the fact that someone left/was kicked out of a pop group..! I loved the every line-up, and feel that each member has brought something new to the group but if even half the people that still call Sugababes childish names such as 'Splendababes' went out and brought their first album, it might have been a success.. hindsight is a wonderful thing though..

Keisha seems to have made peace with the girls and moved on, Siobhan moved on about 2 minutes after leaving the group and Mutya stopped caring about a year before she announced her departure from the group..!

Heidi has always said they will only perform Freak like me onwards as it wouldn;t seem right singing one touch songs. Even though Heidi and Amelle have been performing overload for ten and five years!
