I felt so sorry for Eddi, she was hurting big time, I wanted to give her a big hug and also Michael, the poor guy was missing his kids big time. He is so generous when he wanted to share his meal and have some company with misery guts Eddi and upperty nosy Chrissie. I thought Annalese was a right cow over the phone. Tonight, the star of the show was Chantelle, she is like an angel sent from above, this girl. She had me in tears almost. The most compassionate human being on the show. I am so glad she has Ric as her boss, who believes in her and I liked the way Hanssen invited her in on the meeting, he is developing a soft spot for her and I am so glad. Also, Chantelle was courageous in finding her own voice and standing up for what she believed in. Serena, all I can say for now, she is the biggest most unsympathetic businesswoman cow of a doctor I have ever seen at Holby, even Connie had a conscience underneath that steely heart of hers. Mo and Jac provided the comic relief and Elliot as usual was his chivalrous self, am glad his a Prof, he deserved it The patient stories were heartbreaking to watch and it brings up ethical dilemmas. All in all, it was a brilliant episode despite the despondency. |

Not sure about the Chantelle storyline tonight. I absolutely loved Hanssen inviting her to the meeting, and the baby specialist (sorry, can't remember the proper word for it) sticking up for her .. but even though the outcome was good, she still shouldn't have pushed/influenced the father like she did. It was his choice and his alone to make. She was right that the baby had a chance, however slim, but wrong to pressure the father into seeing it her way.
Edit: Obstetrician! Thank you, above poster! |

I got a feeling its not going to be as as i thought with his absence, its one episode he's not in so far, so it may be another 6 more to go.I am antcipating end of August he should be back on the screen. I am probably wrong. I felt sorry for Michael, he was trying to rally round the troops in AAU but to no avail. Lets hope they concentrate on Darwin and Keller to keep us busy, with Dan and Simon or Mo, Ollie and Tara. |

Anyone else waiting for Elliott to say (preferably to Jac) "Professor Elliott Hope, O.B.E"

I know thats very specific. You heard it here first.... ![]() I'll always love michael ![]() Was also finding all the questions about Lucs dissapearance rather odd. Surely Eddi should be the only one to quesion his return because of their relationship. To everyone else surely his contract had just ended...so why they were all saying he abandoned them etc was bizarre....

The episode was really good. I enjoyed that we saw some character development from Chantelle and it was nice that she got the main story line. THE SL was engaging and very touching. I am sad that the wife died but at least the baby lived, thanks to chantelle's intuition.
It is lovely to see Michael Spence again. I have missed him. He was his funny and charming self as always. He lightens up the AAU ward though he had great interactions with eddi and chrissie, i miss his interactions with Frieda. I loved Jac and Mo's scenes. They were funny, also, Mo is much better when Johnny is not there, he brings her character down. Serena's statistics approach to health decisions is very irritating. Hanssen was great as always. Overall, a solid episode. |

Then he tweeted later: "Big tricky decision day today. Onward". I'm praying he hasn't decided to leave Holby again, for good. |

On paper last nights episode didnt seem like it was going to be that good and would be a bit depressing but i really enjoyed it.
Was nice seeing Chantelle have a decent storyline but she did get a bit to involved, but was good to see her stand up for herself. I like her friendship with Ric. Serena is like a robot! Noe empathy at all, i cant warm to her, but every show needs a bad cop. Jac and Mo were a great double act, much needed light relief. I love Jac and her mean frankness but i did think leave Eddi alone I thought the trainee husband turning up shouting at Eiollet was a bit bizare, random and pointless. Professor Hope - i hope he throws that in Jacs face sometime soon ![]() Glad the Spence is back, but Eddi had a point, he choose work over his family and then whinged about it the whole episode. Wasnt keen on Chrissie this episode, even when she was trying to act like a friend to Eddi it just seemed like she was being nosey. Eddi is one of my favourite characters, i love her no nonesense attitude, Sarah Jane Potts plays her so well. I felt sorry for her last night, i know at times Michael and Chrissie were trying to be supportive but other times they were a bit mean. Be interesting to see were they go with the Eddi/Luc storyline. Missed Sacha this week, would have been nice to see him interact with Eddi. |

Eddi is my favourite character, like you said, I love her attitude towards life. I also noticed one of her tattoos last night....chinese writing in the exact same place I have chinese writing, same direction...I was shocked! Thought mine was unique I can forgive her.. Anywho....I think Sacha would have been good in this episode too. He is Eddis friend, unlike the rest of them who Im sure were being nosy. Sacha wouldnt have been. Plus Eddi's not in the next episode so a bit annoyed about that...but she has had alot of screen time! And im guessing upon Luc's return they'll have alot of screen time again

Eddi is also one of my favourite characters, she is tough and professional but she is a compassionate person as well. Also, I liked the way she got Luc to be abit more approacable with the patients. Eddi really looked shattered and fragile, as if all the energy had be drained from her in this episode. I feel Sacha is her true friend and brother who manages to calm her down. Luc has alot to answer for messing AAU staff schedule around and hurting Eddi deeply. I wonder what his return episode will be like. The state of mind Eddi is in, I can't see her forgiving anytime soon. Also, I am sure he will get a frosty reception from Michael and the rest of the AAU. |

To everyone else surely his contract had just ended...so why they were all saying he abandoned them, left them in the lurch..swanned off etc was bizarre.... Why should he be there? He declined a contract & left. End of. He didnt abandon them. He abandoned Eddi. tHave to say, as much as I ship Leddi, I wasnt hugely bothered about his absence. [which I thought I would be!!!] What bothered me is that when we lost him, we seemed to have lost Eddi aswell. I know she'll take a wee while to get over it, but the instant she appeared I missed her spark! Its like he's taken what made her away!! Maybe the writers were aiming for that,a sort of "what made her was him" scenario, in which case well done, but I do miss the attitude. He best hurry back. He's very easy on the eye too

My phones being daft, wont let me quote but basically Maria and Hatz we agree again
![]() Yes i the comments about did Luc go because of you and have you ever thought of starting a family were really quite mean. I agree Sacha is Eddis friend and can also tame her...a little bit had a feeling she would miss an episode soon because shes been in it a lot lately. Looking forward to Lucs return, should be a great show down, he has annoyed a lot of people, not just Eddi. Quite an unusal storyline which is why i love it ![]() Also Hatz re our discussion about how long it takes to film one episode, there is an old interview on ds with one of the bosses, she says they film two 60 minute episodes in 21 days |

![]() So if thats the case Luc should be gone for about 5/6 episodes. Making his return 7th/14th august...which is what I predicted last night. ![]() That also fits in the the 2-3 month gap between filming and the episodes airing. Its a very clever storyline. Have to give the writers a pat on the back for thinking outside the box with this one. But like I always say...you should never have have a box to think in in the first place..

True...almost forgot that Sacha and Chrissie knew he accepted it... Why none of them feel the need to ask HR or Hanssen whats going on is beyond me. Clearly in a situation like that where no one knows what the hell is going on, they'd go to he boss and ask about doctors/locums etc. if anything only to run an efficient ward. As Eddi is ward sister I feel she should do that. Hanssen would soon put them in thier place. He must know whats going one, Which is one of the reasons why i think they'll know of his return before he appears. Hanssen will prob introduce a locum and and mention he's there until Dr Hemingways return or something.. and everyone on AAU will be like ![]() ![]() ![]() aprt from Eddi who'd be on the floor...or the roof

Enjoyed holby last night.
Chantelle is a great character and I am glad she got a proper storyline. it was good to see she has Ric and Hansen on her side. wondering if the gynae bloke could be made a permenant character - lewis from hollyoaks! - he seemed rather interested in Chantelle so maybe he could be a love interest Jac and Mo were funny. did Mo really say she could see the attraction in Elliot???!?!?! am not surprised Eddi had a dig at Chrissie. she has never tried to be her friend before and saying that the gosspi wouldnt leave the room was a joke. not sure where this thing with barbara the student is going but hopefully it means more screentime for the prof! |

Yes, I agree with you and hatz. The storyline is quite bizarre but intriguing as well. My theory on his disappearance and whether the AAU staff think he is cming back is, I have a feeling he went to Hanssen and signed the contract but then asked for time off said to keep it confidential at the last minute, so Hanssen gave it to him. I think Hanssen knows the reason why he has gone but is not saying anything else he needs to. Also, I don't think Luc has contacted Eddi yet ? She didn't want to tell Michael because it would mean maybe the relationship was just a fluke which it clearly wasn't. Another thing which baffled me is when Eddi gave her house key to Luc, he seemed chuffed and doubtful at the same time. Then, he looks at her again without her noticing, I was wondering what he was thinking ( yes I know he was going to do a runner) but did he want to tell Eddi that he has to go away and that stroke patient with the shifty wife have a big impact on his decision to leave suddenly. I am trying to figure out why Luc did it ? |

I dont think she should ever see it as a fling. Luc told her himself that it wasnt a fling. I do think he gave her a number of reasons to show he really cared for her. Shes now decided not to take any of them at face value because he gone...but if she really listened to him and thought about what he did I dont think she would be confused about his absence as much. Not saying she should think hes coming back, but there are subtle hints. Although maybe thats only visable to me and a viewer... I mean just look at the car park scene. He chased her to get a date. He wasnt willing to loose her. So I think she knows he cares, she just once again doesnt understand him. She doesn't doubt his feelings, in my opinion, she just doubts him as a person. Yes the key scene grabbed my attention. He looked so happy when she was giving to him and then held almost kissed the key. But like you said, then looked sad. I think at that point , the key gesture showed him she cared enough for her to cope with his absence and for him return knowing she most likely wouldnt have moved on because he meant that much to her. Which is quite a selfish thing to do...the key justed showed him that she wanted him in her life. And if you want someone in your life, just because they dissapear for a while, doesnt mean your feelings change for them. He saw the key as a ticket into the life. But as I've said before. He left her the book and not her key. I do think the book is the 'key' to him and I think Eddi should look at the fact he didnt return her key as a good sign. |
