Can someone please explain what rights issue channel 4 have with showing US shows on the iPad 4od app

It's just I can use my windows pc and browse to channel4.com/4od and watch the latest episode of smallville but can't with my iPad due to flash.
But if it's all ready on their website why can't they show it on the 4od app

I would like to watch something else apart from Hollyoaks
