Hi all.
Im running the modified software on my HDR.
I would like to move some of my video's into folders.
Im accessing the receiver via a windows 7 laptop, by clicking computer, network, then selecting the relevant HDR (i have 3) and then Video.
When i create a new folder through the laptop in the directory, i can click on the media button and the folder is displayed on my TV. As soon as i move the files into the folder, both the folder and all the files dissapear (although the available space stays the same).
When i move the files out of the folder again all are visible.
Where am i going wrong?

One of the sidecar files - the .hmt, has the full path to the .ts. If it is incorrect (as it will be) the Humax UI will not show it.

After moving it, using the web interface, rename the file (you don't need to change it's name) and the web interface will correct the path for you.

First, thanks for all the hard work from all you hummy wizards, now...

It's great to be able set the HDR to record programs when I'm away on holiday, but sometimes I get problems with the interface - like the program guide disappears and I can't set it to record anything. I've found that I can fix it by deleting DO_NOT_DELETE_THIS_FILE and rebooting. I can then re-install the full web interface.

All this, I can do remotely, but then it says "Please restart your Foxsat HDR in order to complete the initialisation process."

Help!!!!! I can't do this when I'm away from home. So, I'm stuffed.

Can you please put a restart button on the screen so I can do this remotely? It would also be useful to have a restart button in the full interface, so I can reboot it other than by setting a recording or changing the settings.

Thanks again for all your fantastic work.

Reinstalling is a bit drastic. Have you tried just rebooting without deleting the DO_NOT_DELETE_THIS_FILE file

The web server (mongoose) is known to crash from time to time. You can restart it by using telnet and entering:
service start mongoose.
You can also trigger a reboot via telnet by using the reboot command.

Yes, I did try rebooting first, but to no avail. I also tried uninstalling and re-installing the program guide.

Deleting the DO_NOT_DELETE_THIS_FILE was a last resort. The problem is that now I have done the re-install, telnet is not running and there's nothing I can do till I get home (next week).

First check the custom firmare version - it should be 4.0.8.

You could set an auto power down and up at say 02:45 and 03:15 then at least it would always reboot once a day.

Cool!

I played around and found the Settings->Time menu where you can set the power down/power up time. Might be useful to set this up before I go away next time.

Still, it would be useful to have a reboot button on the "Download & Install the Full Web Interface" screen.

Thanks - Andrew

It also has the advantage that it will pick up channel changes and more.
If you loose the Web interface while at home it is worth checking if mongoose is running and posting again if it is.
You have set an address reservation on your router so that DHCP will always give the Foxsat the same IP?

Adding a button there I think would require a firmware change so even if anyone is inclined it wont be soon (especially as you are the only one so far to request it).

Not the same but not the first

Also capability to reboot after entering non-freesat to enable recording without encryption. If I remember rightly it was during the discussion of macros for the webif remote and a timed macro sequence to allow a PC to switch modes, switch to a non-freesat channel, reboot and initiate recording.

I have just updated to version 4.0.8. And all appeared well but although PC "saw" the HDR it would not run the web interface programme. I.e the 192.168. x.x command. Ping worked fine?? So ....... I deleted the DO NOT DELETE FILE, and tried again! The HDR was not listed in windows! So .... I re flashed to an earlier version of the bundle then back to version 4.0.8 and all would be well!! still no HDR in windows, ping OK. Any suggestions on where I go from here? I am desperate to try the new channel editor!
Thanks,
Woolfynorm

How were you able to delete the DO NOT DELETE FILE?
I would suggest you restart the Foxsat and verify the ip address on the Foxsat settings and try again.

I don't know how, but it's now working!
One question how do you see all of your scheduled reservations, mine only appears to show 7 of 31?

If you have a long list it takes a little while to download them. I normally use the webif remote to view them on the telly.

Im I missing something, why would you not just use the normal remote, if your using the telly?

When I access both the EPG and the Now/Next I don't get all channels, I have it set to 'main channels' , what am I doing wrong?

The main channels is a subset you can edit what it includes - If you include all it will take ages to paint the screen.

GT uses the WebIf phone remote because it is not directional, is rather neat and has macros.

You can set up multiple customised epg views and choose which you want. As Repessac says if you include all channels it's slow and unwieldy.. The webif remote is great I normally have it on a 10" Netbook. If watching the Foxsat remotely say in the kitchen you have full control without messing with IR repeaters. You can also control the box directly from anywhere if you set up remote access as well. The macro capability is also very handy, a single button deletes a recording you have just watched for instance. Another displays the cached epg with a single button. Favourite icons let you switch to your favourite channels or flip to them in the epg without having to enter the channel number.

Where have you learnt all these features?
I've picked up some, but don't recognise many of the other things you mention?

There is some excellent documentation but you also have to explore.

Can you play SD video's in media browser on an iPad?

I get the play option but no video appears?

The documentation included in the webif, the read me text files in the download, the custom firmware threads on AV forum (there's one purely on the webif remote), asking for help from the experts and just plain old experimentation as Repassac says. It's like owning a whole new pvr

Possibly the same reason as explained here.

STB mode (the way to switch) appears AFTER you have done a manual tune.
