Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part then. Never liked the Peter/Olivia romance, especially now when I still feel like this shouldn't be our timeline, even though they say it is.

Excellent episode!

Wasn't suprised by the reveal at the end, although the cameo in the middle was a nice suprise!

Please, please, please let Fringe get renewed!!!!

Just awesome.

Could certainly see the reveal coming as soon as she first appeared, but great episode in all.

Nice to see Desmond from Lost again too.

Great episode, although I am totally confused now. What happened to the other universe and which timeline is this following on from as last season we saw a rather different future. Looking forward to next week.

Which Cameo?

Was It? William Bell?

Soooo many more questions after this now. So it was 2036. Walter must put himself Astrid and Peter in Amber in 2016.

What happened to Olivia?

William Bell is alive? He must be if he was in Amber also. How will they do this storyline without Nimroy? (He says he's done with any type of filming now)

It ended a bit suddenly didn't it?

I'm sure i missed a bit out on my sky+ box. Didn't seem that long.

It was William bell

decemeber said that all Olivia's die in all timelines and there was no way to save her. Now when shows say 'there is no way to save her' it normally means there is a way to save her

We don't know what happened to Olivia yet.

Also if you read spoilers you will find the answers you seek.....

Is the show staying in this timeline or will it go back to present day next week?

This show needs a good ending.

Last nights episode was fantastic. I think Fringe is easily J.J. Abrams best TV show.

Please just let it have one more season with a good ending.

It's going back to the present for next ep, "Worlds

After 18 mediocre/poor episodes, it was good to have the show i loved back last night! Hopefully it continues to be as good as that until the end of the season (although i'm a bit disappointed to learn that we're back in the present next week...i was hoping we'd be staying in the future).

Yeah I couldn't believe it when it finished so suddenly, I was really hoping it would be a two-parter at least. So many questions I have that people have already mentioned, particularly what happened to the other universe. Would've been cool to see an older Olivia. Such a fantastic episode though. Even though I've enjoyed this season, it hasn't had the same spark for me, but that episode was just everything that is brilliant about Fringe.

Spoiler

The future we saw last season is the one that led Peter to use the machine to form a bridge between universes, which changed the future so it didn't happen.

This episode is the branch episode which I am assuming will pick up from where it left off if we get a season 5, the current story will somewhat end at ep22 ensuring fans gets some sort of ending to the ongoing story if its cancelled while leaving it open for Season 5 if need be to start a new story in 2026.
Whatever happens think the ongoing 4 year story arc will be put to bed in ep22.

With the wand broken the only way to free Peter was to push him out. The amber reset quickly and caused Desmond to get stuck.

He just pushed Peter out (the Sonic gun he used on Walter and Astrid was broke) but this meant he got stuck himself.

One thing that was a bit odd was that Etta was told by the Club owner that Walter had been in Amber with 2 other people (Astrid and Peter) but made no mention of William Bell who seemed to be right next to the others.

Yeah but thats just an assumption, surely pushing peter out would have enabled him to get out as well, just seemed a little woolly for me, would have prefered to see exactly what happened but felt a few bits of the episode were a little bit woolly/cheesy.
For me the 2 episodes set around september a few weeks back were the best so far this season.

It's not an assumption. It was expicitly mentioned earlier in the episode before they freed Walter that anyone trying to get Walter out would get trapped themselves.

That's why they went to get the wand in the first place.

It's not made too clear but I think that you see Walter sneak off and Astrid wander around to find him. Bell was in a separate room
