Just had my bill through and noticed a £1 monthly charge for something called RINGTAGZ. This is a service I know nothing about and have never ordered it.

I have emailled Orange but just wondered if anyone else has been charged unwittingly for it.

Its for a downloaded ringtone, meaning that when your phone rings the caller may hear some music along with the ringtone, you rent this tune per month and thats what the charge is.

Ha ha, my mate used to work for a company that made or procured these tones, and then had deals with the networks. They're more well known in parts of Europe and Asia but have absolutely bombed here because they never had any promotion. Because of strict rules about calling tones, they all have to be super low quality, like an 8Khz mono .wav file.
