Prime Suspect US pace.

Well not a lot that can be said apart from another NBC stinker, clunky script, throwaway leads and boring, expect it will be axed within weeks.

I doubt it will be cancelled its been postive reviews from almost everyone, it's competition Charlie's Angels on ABC last night got slated by critics.

I'm looking forward to watching the pilot of this today, it might not be that amazing but Maria Bello looks cool from the promos

The only saving grace but i will give it another go. I have a two episode rule so PS has to up its game.

And Charlie's Angels, that stank like a whorehouse at low tide.

I watched the pilot and have to say that it wasnt as good as I was expecting, but by no means bad, it felt good that the normal procedural took a back seat as we took a 'journey' with Maria Bello's detective character.

I hope it improves a bit more but the acting was first class.

I got bored during the pilot, so I don't really know if I will continue watching, but it seemed to have potential.

Hell knows, NBC has had a serious problem regarding its drama slate for the past few years, a problem that shows no sign of abating in my lifetime.

They cancelled it because they are clueless. They have an itchy trigger finger when it comes to killing off their shows. How they expect their shows to gather an audience is beyond me when they put them up against strong competition, juggle the schedule around and then pull them because the ratings don't meet their expectations.

If NBC had bothered to let some of their shows flourish instead of pulling the plug, the likes of Journeyman, Studio 60 and Life could still be going today and even something like The Event could be alive and doing well if scheduled properly. It's got to the stage with NBC now where I won't even watch a new show from them until it gets a second season because I'm fed up with having them canned after a few episodes.

This was one of the premieres that I actually really enjoyed. I expected it to be awful - a poor distant cousin to our own Prime Suspect, and who could ever match Ms Mirren's powerhouse performance? But I think Ms Bello did very well, and had me engaged pretty much from the get go. I look forward to seeing how this pans out, or shoudl I say, I hope to be able to see how this pans out.....

Just catched up with this show. I must say I like it. Not a lot, but I like it. But why the connection with Prime Suspect? It's inevitable people will compare the two shows and that does the US version no favours. The name of the show and a strong lead, that's all they have in common.
It's a decent cop show that deserves some time to develop. And maybe two part episodes. Like all other US cop shows, it's all a bit rushed.

I watched it hoping I would enjoy it but I found it wishy-washy compared to the English Helen Mirron version. It was too "American" which it had to be for the Americans to enjoy it. Unfortunately the Americans simply don't "get" English and how we work so it had to be fluffy and it was.

Harsh but I like American series made by Americans from American writers and English series made by English people.
