I know that Emeli Sande doesn;t need much introducing but I think it is good to have a thread where her fans, and critics alike can discuss her brand of music, and publish her songs, videos, performances etc. I think its been a while since I have been as engaged with an artist like Emeli, there is something very fresh, and modern about her, but with the song heaven she mixes that sound of the 90's with a more modern sound which I thought was genious. She has that real singer/songwriter quality about her, and i think music experts will really want to reward her.

I think she will be loved by the MOBO committee, along with the "snobs" at the brit school (sorry to offend them but they are a little snobbish) but with Emeli I will allow it lol. To me she is like a modern day Gabrielle/Beverly Knight but with more of an edge, and if her album is as good as her recent songs and collaborations she could be here for many years to come. I am really looking forward to the album.

Here are some of her songs and performances.

Why not set up an Appreciation Thread? That way you won't get the usual suspects infecting the thread. Just a thought.

PS Everything I've heard from her so far I've loved, btw. I think she's one to watch.

PPS Isn't her real first name Adele?

Edit: Please tell me you have added the Official Appreciation Thread bit just now or am I going mad??

I have liked her for a few years know. She is quite versatile. She suits Pop, R&B, a bit of soul, Dance and Hip-hop.

yea she is really versatile, would love to see her put her own spin on a rock song, she reminds me a little also of Mary J, but ultimately she is her own artist.

I love Heaven so much!

Very 90s in feel and scope, and she has a wonderful voice tone too

May check out more stuff by this girl

What do people think of the new single, Daddy?

I heard this a few months ago when she did a live set for Virgin On Demand. It was better acoustic. But i think it's grower.

I am loving that she is bringing a bit of Urban-ness to the music at the moment.

There several songs from her all around you tube. A few demo's on her you tube channel. Plus she did a recent live set for Jools Holland about 2 weeks ago where she did Heaven and another song. She was great. Jools very much likes her. The emphasis when presenting her to the audience was promising.

Have not heard Easter In Bed yet....hopefully we will have a tracklisting soon!

Will pre-order soon i think...Cannot wait for her to release more. I like the style she is releasing too. Heaven released first post-summer, then Daddy Autumn/Winter and i hope we get another a few weeks before the album drops!

I predict a number 1 album with the airplay and hype she is recieving atm

She already has the Urban people on her side. That's one box ticked. She has fans of Prof green, Tinie tempah and Chipmunk on her side as she's worked with them

She may have cracked the Dance people on her side. Especially the Massive attacks fans who are loving the throwback of them that she is using.

SHe has Urban, Underground, NME audiences and Dance ticked definitely which atm is so impressive for her! and she is played on mainstream radio stations currently too so people are really aware of her already...i just hope it flourishes to new levels next year
