Odd ingredients in your (home-made) food ?
Have you ever put what you thought was an odd ingredient into your food ?
The other day I was making a Cottage Pie, and I added a bit of Nam Pla (Fish Sauce) to the mince/onions/veg filling. It sounds mad, but it was delicious !

I like adding Green Plum wine to my apple sauce. You can buy it in Chinatown in Liverpool and it gives the sauce that 'je ne sais quoi'.

Last time I made apple sauce it needed something to round it out. It was just a tad too sweet and sharp so I added chicken powder. It worked a treat.
