Kesha - Is her career over

I think it is in the UK anyway, did Blow even chart?

Singles really arent that important these days, anyways her singles always do well, they may not chart high but they stay in the charts for a long time because everyone always needs party music! Her albums sell well in the states and she tours a lot so i think she makes money from that, her positions in the UK:

Tik Tok - 4
Blah Blah Blah - 11
Your love is my drug - 13
Take it off - 15
We r who we r - 1
Blow - 32

Her album reached 8 here but got to number 1 in america.

Her career isn't over, she still has a lot more to come, though I was surprised at how low Blow charted :/

I think she'll re-invent herself similar to Madonna and come back with a different image and sound.

All she'd need to do is have a bath.

She probably will reinvent her look.

I'm guessing she will go retro/disco/70s, to match her new sound.

Of course her career isn't over.'Blow' was an utter flop, which is a shame granted that it's imo her best single so far.And the EP was a complete chart disaster because it lacked a strong lead single ('We R Who We R' did get to No.1, but it was no 'Tik Tok') and also because it was released in a very busy period and since it wasn't exactly top notch, it was completely overshadowed. However, she's just getting started, so of course her career isn't over.

Nah, with her new album i'm sure that she will be back on top.
If she plays her cards right she will do good.

You're talking about it flopping in the UK. Ke$ha is an American artist, and the song went Top 10 in the US. It was a hit.

Unless you're Nicole Scherzinger or the Scissor Sisters, the UK means nothing to American music careers.

Agreed, but her EP was a total flop in the US.It didn't even spend 2 weeks in the top 20.Of course I don't agree that her career is over ( how? ), but at the same time it's not just the UK where she's underperforming

I don't think Kesha has a long career in terms of success. Her music is disposable. Her image as a party girl really isn't that amazing and that might be why the UK are mixed on her considering one of the biggest issues we have over here is Teenage Binge Drinking and here we have her who always looks drunk and makes out it is great singing about partying and being drunk. Not good at all.

Plus, she has one of the worst voices in Pop. She might gain a hit now and then, but she will likely end up like Sophie Ellis Bextor in years to come. Overproduced albums that continue to sell next to nothing, yet a record label continues to invest money into them.

Thing is, Ke$ha is a song writer for Dr. Luke, etc. I believe. So even if her songs fail to be successful, she'll still be in the music industry, writing songs for other artists. So she can always feature herself on a song, if she's writing the lyrics.

But as others have said, Blow has been a massive top 10 hit in the US, so she's in a good place to continue her career.

Blow also re-entered the charts recently for a few weeks in the UK, since a remix of it was used in the Inbetweeners music, and it was also used on Big Brother, so it got back in the top 100 again for a while. So it hasn't done as badly as it looks.

One flop single from no promotion is not the sign of failing. Her animal + cannibal album literally has so many gems on it that she wrote so can't see her going anywhere just yet. Like someone said she'll probably always be in the music industry writing songs for other artists at least

To a worldwide star, a second single flopping in the UK means nothing.

Second album is out around May 2012, so a little while away.

But she's still touring and doing shows, launching a new retro-style fashion line and watch range, and featuring on a few big tracks, so she's not exactly out of the spotlight.

I sure hope so, How real singers get less credit than her I don't know.

Ke$ha isn't that bad, her image is though. She knows how to write a pop-fiilled party track, you have to give her that.

Firstly, a lot of "real singers" don't wriite their own lyrics.

And secondly, people base artists mainly on their songs, not how good they are at singing. There's no point in being good at singing if your songs are boring. Look at Susan Boyle and Joe McElderry.

seen her at 3 festivals over the summer. all of which before she came on people were laughing and booing, and about 10 minutes into her set were cheering and going wild. by the end she was gettin a huge applause. think she made a lot of new fans over the summer especially with the We R Who We R single, and she'll do really well with her next album
