So has the Doctor changed his outfit for good?

Because I'm liking it, sort of camp but very T.Bakerish.

Maybe, I think all Doctors have had slight changes to their costumes through out their tenures!

I've half an idea that the new coat will turn out to have been bought by an older Doctor - and will be used to show that we've been seeing "909" and "1103" alternately.

I have the other half of that idea.

Now it sounds like one of those "broken heart" lockets - where the couple each have half so the heart is only whole when they are together.

Aaaah.

He seems to alternate every episode.
I like the new green one, and would actually quite like to wear something like that myself, but personally, I think the tweed jacket suits the Eleventh Doctor more. I much prefer it when he wears the tweed one.

I have thought about the change in coats for a longgggg time might not be significant buyyou never know

He's back to wearing the tweed jacket (or one of them anyway) when he meets Amy and Rory in Utah.

I'm guessing the coat will depend on the episode just as the 10th Doctor sometimes wore the long coat and sometimes did not.

I think the coats this series are key to all the timey-wimey stuff that is yet to be revealed (presumably). I'm stunned no-one on here has charted the different outfits across the episodes.

The 10th Doctor sometimes wore a long over coat and from Smith and Jones onwards did sometimes wear a blue suit rather than the brown one.

Having said that with the 11th Doctor it could be significant. Remember when Amy had her eyes closed in the forest with the Angels? She was visited by the 11th Doctor from the future not wearing the tweed jacket - something which many viewers picked up on.

Love the coat, just makes him more Doctorish then the tweed, which is very in for fall fashions.

But it'll probably have something to do with the alternate Doctor.

Actually he was wearing a Tweed jacket* whereas the current Doctor had removed his to escape from the Angels.

*A different one to the one he had in ToA/FaS IIRC.
