Connection confusion

Hi

I have posted this on another forum but had no replies so wondered if you could help?

I have ordered a new TV - Toshiba 36zd26, which should be here soon.

I could do with some help setting up all my stuff, as I am really confused about the best way to install it all.

The TV has 3 scarts (only one RGB).
It also has component for NTSC viewing

I also have a Yamaha DSP 750SE Amp with loads of inputs

Panasonic DMRE55 DVD recorder

Sky panasonic digital box

Xbox

Gamecube

Toshiba 330e DVD player

Argos scart splitter box thing

Not sure if there's any point in keeping the 330e dvd player in the setup, but if anyone can suggest a use for it amongst my stuff then I'll leave it there.

My xbox connects to the Amp via an optical lead

The way I presently have the E55 setup seems to be wrong, as the picture on my current TV is not being shown through AV1.

I'm really not sure where the aerial cables to and from the E55 are meant to go. I seem to have tried every configuration - but no luck.

Consequently the picture quality is not as good as it should be.

Could really use some advice on setting this lot up PROPERLY this time!

Many thanks

Assuming you're willing to buy any necessary missing leads, aim for the best signal you can get - scart is a definite for SKY and Gamecube, Xbox will be component else RGB, not sure what all your DVD player offers. You want to look at plugging all the RGB stuff into the Argos splitter and then into the RGB scart (you may need to chain something through the DVD/SKY box if you want four bits of RGB kit). Also check you have fully wired scarts, RGB is switched on in all the setup menus etc - the quality difference from component and RGB, to s-video, to composite and RF, should be pretty obvious. Sound is a separate deal - cables from everything into the back of your amp should give you nice surround, Xbox and DVD will be 5.1, everything else prologic, and if you have audio out on your TV that'll cut down on the sound cables needed.

Hi
So far have everything sort of working but seem to have same problem with the E55. The only way I can get it all to work is by running the aerial lead from E55 into digibox.

Though I have a picture on the TV, the output is still not on AV1.

I seem to have tried every way possible to get this right but still zero.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

- Thanks for your help Monkeysoup, once I have sorted out the E55, I will try your method.
