Again he coped well with a difficult song

He was the best of the boys last night. Craig was rather bland and Frankie, well I'm lost for words

Much better then last week. I'm sure he's safe tonight.

I'm SO happy he's through!! I was beginning to worry it'd be between him and Frankie.

Well done Marcus! Roll on Week 3.

You though Nu Vibe would become the new 1D aswell

I hate it when an act I like is left till the last three - hope next week he's one of the first to be called out (and Gary gives him a song where he can shine)

I agree with you I hate it when my favourite is called out last

I know. I had such low hopes for the results, I honestly thought Nu Vibe and Frankie would be safe and it'd be between Rhythmix/Marcus for bottom two.

I hope Gary actually gives Marcus a decent song next week. Both songs so far have been so random and "un-Marcus"ish. He needs either something upbeat and energetic or something soul/r'n'b.

Gary seems to be focusing on Frankie too much.

Over the moon that Marcus got through tonight, I was bricking it when he was in the last three. Bless him, he looked so terrified! Can't wait to see what he does next week, I just hope that Gary pays him enough attention - bit worried that he's going to focus on Frankie too much. Having said that, it may be a good thing! Maybe Marcus can do what Craig did last week.

Well I'm feeling positive if it really is Motown week

I hope he gets a slow or midtempo song though. Lots of dancing (like week 1) might affect his vocals - he needs to showcase his voice next week

It's Motown/RnB week apparently. I'm praying he gets a Motown song and not an RnB one.

Has anyone seen this article?

They think this year the producers will do all they can to avoid another male winner and sooner or later all three boys will be disposed of. They also think Marcus will be first boy to perform this week, while Frankie will be on last.

I really hope Marcus gets a song where he will shine, they usually like to open the show with a bang

I read this too I reckon Marcus will definitely be the first boy open and he will probably open the show as well. I really hope he does well this week because I want him to be in the final 3 but I think at the moment he wont get there because of song choices. He should be definitely a contender because he is Gary best chance of winning,

To be honest, Marcus would be better off NOT winning. Aside from Leona and Alexandra, all the winners have flopped with most of the succesful acts being the "losers" (Olly, JLS, Cher, Diana, Jedward). As long as he gets to go on tour, I'll be happy.

Agreed, Marcus not only has a great voice imo but also seems the most versatile out of those three. Craig has so far only done ballads (though there may be a surprise lined up for him later down the line) and...well, we know how versatile Frankie is. If they give him a song he's good at he ought to do well, only problem is that that's a double-edged sword. If he did an older song it wouldn't fit in with the show this year seemingly trying to have more contemporary song choices, but if he did a current song, much like the one I linked before, no-one would really know it ('cause annoyingly, F
funk and soul music ain't exactly mainstream anymore ) so we'll just have to see what happens.

True, Marcus doesn't like the overall producer favourite anyway (that title would go to Janet, most likely), but being runner-up'd be great.

Btw just had an idea: it might be interesting if we all said which Appreciation Threads we've been in before/are in currently. I'm from Cher Lloyd's, which might make me the most controversial here.

I was on Jamie's thread a couple of years ago - I now post on here, Joe's and Rhydian's

Occasionally I update the JLS thread

Looks like the theme has been changed from Motown to Heroes

I wonder if Frankie was struggling with his song (or songs if they changed it again), so they've changed the whole theme

Sorry but I can't help but be suspicious
Shadow2009

Heroes theme? That's still such a broad theme.

I'd like to see Marcus do (RANDOM SONG CHOICE ALERT ) Never Say Never by The Fray. It's such an emotional song, I think he'd do it justice.

Now apparently it's been changed to 'rock'

What on earth could Marcus now

Do you think he'd struggle with this theme - it does feel like it's been changed to benefit Frankie

No I dont think he will struggle at all bad because he can still sing songs from line by Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder because they are classed as rock for some reason. He just needs to get a song that it suited because the last two songs he have been given dont showcase his talent properly.

I hope they don't have a pair of distracting dancers with the camera on them instead of the singer - that trick has been done before

Nothing will benefit Frankie! I hope he doesn't get dross like I don't wanna miss a thing

Why has it been changed to Rock????

idk people say to benfit Frankei but Musical Heroes could be anyone so why change.

Marcus will do well i'm sure he needs a rock ballad, but not a generic one like as above stated I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing
