Did anyone see Marcus on XF Rewind last night?

It was really funny when he was revealing how he managed to stay safe in week 3 despite opening the show. He said how he deliberately went out all guns blazing and rocked it so he wasn't forgotten and managed to pick up votes. Seems like we had nothing to worry about that week.

Marcus has just made my top 20 songs of 2012, with Seven-Nation Army. I think I might prefer him to Rebecca Ferguson.

Do we have any updates on him

I hear he is currently working on his second album as well as appearing in Hairspray.

I really hope he creates original music this time.

Still one of my all-time X Factor favourites - along with Alexandra and Leona.

Mercy was actually a really good song - I just don't think it was promoted properly or released at the right time.

I think it's good that RCA haven't immediately dumped him (I hope).

Bump...

Marcus has had a presenting role on CBBC for the past two weeks.

Is he still recording music? He deserves so much more musically.

I wish he was - haven't heard much recently as to whether he is still with RCA or not.

Maybe one of us could try and ask him on Twitter.

I don't have Twitter so you might have to. It's best if he isn't with RCA - they are a broke label and he'd be at a dead end there. If you ask, maybe just say something about whether he is still pursuing music or not?

If the recording deals dry up I can see him pursuing musical theatre - Ray has done well with that, so has Rhydian and Shayne is following suit

I would love to hear more music from Marcus - I listen to SNA all the time even though I do like the original as well.

Somehow, I think two major mistakes were made with Marcus - a rushed debut album with a cover as the debut single and now the delay and silence regarding any new music. I think that and other factors have put an end to his potential career as a recording artist.

I still adore him, the last time I saw him was on Come Dine With Me and he was adorable. I hope he continues to get work in the music industry even if he's not topping the charts. He really deserves to do well in something he loves.

As soon as I knew that he was going to release his album as early as March, I knew where his music career was heading. If only Marcus was clued up about the music industry. RCA UK is a TERRIBLE label - they screwed over Diana, Alexandra, have managed Christina Aguilera terribly recently. I think Paloma Faith is the only successful artist on there. I really hope he does something soon. He was the star of 2011 for me and could have easily avoided the typical route most male singers go down on XF. 'Are You Gonna Go My Way' and 'Superstition' prove this.

Maybe things would have worked out differently had Gary managed him...

I think he could have done it independently. He hasn't yet replied to the tweet I sent him and I don't think he ever will.

He's got so much potential, he just needs someone to invest in him. People called him cheesy but I didn't see it tbh. Being happy doesn't mean being cheesy.

Is he still doing Hairspray?

I wish he was a bit more successful. Maybe we could try and get him a performing spot on Xtra Factor at least? He could perform something like Mercy. Just to remind people of who he is.

He seems to have been in the public eye more this year. First his romance with one of the Strictly dancers fuelled rumours that they would be the first same-sex Strictly couple ever (although that didn't happen) and he was on This Morning last week talking about the latest series of X Factor. He's also got a new record deal and is working on his album - I'm sure it is an independent one though.
