iPod Cover Flow problem

Hi all,

I have a 5th generation 160gb iPod Classic and I have an on-going problem with Cover Flow.

Cover Flow displays the cd covers but then hits two problems;
1. some cds are duplicated (with exact same track listings)
2. some (mainly various artists) cds have mulitiple listings, each showing different artists.

I've tried filling out the various boxes in "Get Info" in iTunes (Sort Album, Sort Artist etc) but the problems keep re-occurring. Any suggestions please?

Get Info, Album Artists = <What ever your album artists is> for that particular album.

Make sure all the tracks have the same album artist and it will sort it correctly.

I found that with just 2 tracks on one of my compilations and it bugged me for days

Had to phone Apple for the solution only yesterday.
You have to make a compilation of the tracks.

Select all the tracks that should be on the album
Right Click
get info
Part of compilation
Tick the are you sure box

It then puts them all in together. How stupid is that! Have just had a rant on a thread further up regarding itunes.

This problem is when itunes doesn't sell the cd and therefore cannot recognise it. Very stupid or what?

So that means all CDs are treated as compilations???

And when I tick them as compilations they show up as "Various Artists" on Cover Flow!

I am not very good at this and don't know what cover flow is so the info maybe wrong, but it seems to me that you have to highlight the tracks that have come adrift and then do as above, its possibly called grouping not compilation. This then puts all the tracks together and the album cover becomes one instead of several with just one or two songs in.
Had to phone Apple again today as I could not see how to sync my iphone and my husbands ipod touch with different music selections.
If you have the time and are still within the 90 day free help time, I suggest you phone them too. They seem to be very helpful but every one who I have spoken to there says that itunes is a really difficult program to understand. This begs the question 'why not simplify it then'. Even today the lovely girl had to get help as she couldn't work it out.
