Bought this tv yesterday from asda, £189.82.

The main intention of this thread was to mainly recommend the tv to people who are looking for a new tv.

Does anyone here, have one.

Model PTV7017.

I have one, it's excellent. Excellent value, with a very good picture. 2xSCARTs too. The sound isn't the best when listening to music channels but for watching TV normally it sounds good too.

God that's cheap - I bought a 28inch silver Bush pure flat wide screen TV from Aldi a year and a half ago for £260... it's been a great TV, it's got two RGB inputs and red, white and yellow inputs on the side as well... great purchase.

Yep that's the same one. One of the best buys I made, considering its a fantastic model and a flat screen.

My parents were asking me what TV to buy but then decided to go to the Sony Centre without taking me along and they wasted £700 on a 28 inch integrated digital TV - even though they have Sky digital.

A lot of people I know have Sony widescreens and I've noticed on all of them, there's a strange the clicking sound between 4:3 and 16:9 modes - the Bush switches silently.

Thats true dan, it ain't pure flat, should of mentioned the specs.

So far, there has been no problems at all, i find the tv excellent, well worth the money. When i bought the TV there were 'New' stickers on the box and shelf in the shop. I'm thinking that maybe this is a 2nd version - which is why so far i've had/noticed no problems.

Specs:

2x 21-pin scarts, AV1 is RGB only as far as i can tell. There is 2x RCA (red, yellow, white) sockets on the tv. 1 at the back, for permanent connection, 1 on the side for removable device(s) - such as camcorder. Also has an earphone socket on the side.

There are menu buttons, on the side - which can be child-locked.

There are multiple AV channels, each connection has its own channel. AV1, AV2, F-AV (front/side av, ex camcorder), B-AV (back av), there is also a s-vhs channel.

100 channels can be programmed into the tv. The tv itself has what is known as a hypertuner, recieves VHF1, VHF3 & UHF.

10W per speaker, and 50Hz

However, there is currently a flat screen tevion (or is it medion) tv in aldi for £200. I was going to get this, but was shut on a sunday.

Aside from being shut Sundays, I struggled to get the TV down to the till and they wouldn't take my MasterCard Only Visa cards - doh!

Asda were very friendly & helpful. They brought 1 down from upstairs storeroom. Borrowed me the trolley to carry it out to the taxi, they then also helped me lift into taxi.

Go on the Customer Service on the Interactive button - there's a list of TV remote codes on there for all brands! Just go on "For all Sky remotes" and select "I cannot change TV channels" or "the volume does not work" options

When i got my tv the other day, a leaflet came with it, telling me the code for sky remote.

1. Press Tv button

2. Press and Hold the Select & Red buttons together, until the led/light on remote flashes twice.

3. Enter 0065, the light should flash twice. Check the remote works for tv.

This code is listed for the Pacific Model #s,

PTV6024
PTV7004
PTV7017
