National Television Awards 2012 - Soap Nominees
The Soap nominees for the National Television Awards 2012 have been released. Who would you like to see take the awards and does this differ from who you think will win?

I'm shocked again to find that Samantha Womack has not been nominated for a single award again. Her storylines weren't always great, but she excelled in all of them regardless.

I'd like to see Alison King, Emmett J Scanlan or Pauline Quirke receive the award for Best Serial Drama Performance — each one of them has been enjoyable to watch. I can see it going to Jessie Wallace though as she has had a lot of screen time and some excellent material also.

The voting homepage is a bit messed up.

NOOOOOOOOO Jane D and Ali both up for serial drama performance! I voted for Ali but took a while to decide. Jessie will probably win it anyway she always does. But that category it's got Andrew, Chris G, Jane and Ali. All great and for current storyline. Suppose they think voters will focus on now and not anything else between January and now. I think the awards are always why soaps have big storylines at certain times of the year cos then they are fresh in voters minds.

Just voted! I want Ali King to win or Jane Danson but I bet it will be Jessie Wallace.

I have my tickets row G BK 112 ! So excited already! haha!

I agree it's ridiculous that Sam Womack won nothing for her incredible acting over the years

Whuttt? They're making us choose between Ali King, Jane Danson AND Andrew Lancel for serial performance?! Pfft. Ali has to win it though, sorry. Of course Jessie bloody Wallace will win it yet again, but there you go.

And Lesley Sharp really should win drama performance, but will be trampled all over by Karen Gillan

Really surprised to see Jake up there (was he on there last year? ) i went straight for steve but had to change my mind when i saw jake! yay for Jimmy and for a change i voted vernon cos he has just been hilarious!

is that who was in scott & bailey? see the names are quite close together so i missed her. still would've voted for suranne though i thought she was amazing

In terms of this storyline though, as much as they'll get a shedload of votes now, when/if they make the shortlist and voting for that opens, will people still remember this storyline? IMO the timing of this SL could work against them...

I know this may be odd but I voted for Pauline Quirk and I hardly ever watch Emmerdale..I just wanted someone different other than Jessie Wallace
I actually voted for Neighbours as I was torn between EE and Corrie lol

no but steve has never won a big massive award before thats why i'd vote for him so he can win at least once.....but then there was jake wood and he is amazing in every scene he's in
