Just been reading back to the end of the last thread. Wow, another new thread - it was a bit of while coming, this one. Sorry, Stephy, you missed the boat.
Well done, Annie. First post for the first time - that's eluded me forever.

Re: boys and girls in BB. Haven't a clue about what has been going on in BB - only enjoy reading the snippets you all bring over from time to time - some more than others LOL.
But a story from daughter who, as you know, has just started uni.
She has been making loads of friends, mostly guys, because as I said she gets on much better with them because she knows where she is with them, even if she doesn't always like the knowing.
Yesterday she told me a story about a guy at uni: her initial comment - he's being such a girl and I'm being such a guy
He was just one of a crowd of people she's friends with but he obviously liked her but she didn't encourage him. He wanted her to go out with him one evening but she'd already arranged to meet up with a couple and have a quiet evening watching a DVD with them and wanted to continue not encouraging him. He immediately assumed she was lying and was going out with another guy, went out, got drunk, kissed another girl, texted her endlessly through the night, saying he was sorry, he hadn't meant to do it etc etc. And she is, like And now other guys who she's become friends with in this crowd - just mate friends - are saying she's being unfaithful to him - even though she WAS watching a DVD with a couple - a girl and a guy - and a relationship wasn't even a twinkle in her eye or even planned to be. Oh, the dramas, the dramas. He was texting her saying how sorry he was that he'd messed things up, blah, blah, blah.

Sorry for filling up post space with this but after reading about BB in the night, I thought this was interesting. The stereotypes are breaking down and have been for a long time. Or maybe it just goes to prove that there really are no stereotypical guys and gals - they are just individual human beings with their own wants and needs, their own perspectives on life, their own ways of dealing with life's challenges.

As someone whose daughter also started at uni this term, its an odd sensation isnt it?

And arent the interactions between girls and boys fascinating........ I am pretty impressed by the boy who likes your daughter though. He went out and got drunk and kissed someone else......yet somehow has managed to make it look to everyone else as if she is in the wrong.
wow..... do you think they might actually get together at some point, or has this drama put your daughter off him completely?

My little one is having to cope with the difficulties of a long distant relationship..... and the fact that she gets jealous and tied up in knots when her boyfriend is friendly with other girls.
Despite the fact that the pair of them are actually much more sociable and outgoing than a lot of their friends. this is where the idea of having mates who are guys and mates who are girls, gets so complex!!!

who knows what is going to happen next?

Indian Summer hasn't reached Berkshire although through the white cloud there's a hint the sun 'may' shine through You gave up going back to bed then Joyce?
Yeah given up now. Just going to have a lazy day. Todays dinners cooked overnight in the slow cooker. Might make pea and ham soup with the stock. And keep popping in here. What could be better.

Have a nap after lunch so you're here later . Slow cookers are fantastic aren't they? The meat is sooooo tender

It's so funny when you see HOW MUCH this girl actually has to do at the moment. It's not just OKTV on thursdays and BBBOTS on sundays.....

It makes you laugh when certain people say how she could EASILY.... ( I mean EASILY) live in Bristol and just hop on a train to London. But cause she is not doing this she is proving to be a mediawannabe who just wants the parties

Yeah, right, as if.... As if that's all she would have to do. Even if she would only work for thursdays and Sundays it still wouldn't be just a piece of cake to live in Bristol.... And when in fact we see that she has weekly other things to do also. 85% of it based in London, so yeah right..... Go and live in Bristol, girl and try to look fresh and sharp with all the trainhopping and travelling

QUOTE=Sofia Rose;53090032]Good Morning xx Hows everyone today? The sun is out the sky is blue I have soooo much work to do lol

I have no life still! Looking at invoices etc gone midnight last night - there better be some perks heading my way thats all Im saying!!!

Watched Doc Martin though - its so good and Port Isaac is just stunning x

Its shopping Day today and BF has learnt his lesson he didnt enjoy the potatoes in the biscuit tin one bit!! lol

So the decks have gone - just in time for this photo shoot!

John, John John where has he gone? what is he doing?

Actually Im gonna have to go as just received a work call on my mobile not happy about that flippin BF is pushing his luck!!!

Enjoy this Indian Summer! xxx
Morning Sofia....love your posts. They remind me of a former threadling...Rosieposie I think her name was. Does anyone agree?

I think this Indian summer is going to take a few days to reach Bonnie Scotland. Although it is quite nice today, quite breezy but no rain so far, defying the weathermans forecast. That's probably jinxed it now though.

Would say enjoy your shopping, but I hate food shopping. Don't mind the other kind at all. See you later. [/quote]

Well you know what I love your posts too x RosiePosie now thats a cool name!!
Well Im in Preston and it is still bright possibly even warm out there but wouldnt know as am stuck indoors sorting out BFs work stuff!!! He has full confidence in me and I must grin or something as I think Ive given him the impression that Im enjoying it!! lol Funny guy!
Food shopping on the net isnt as stressful but still time consuming......havent actually done it yet better do it as we have empty cupboards and very limited toilet paper!

Hope the sun has reached you now..

Ok then onwards and upwards (is that right??!!)lol

Agree with you Heidi...apart from the cost and time involved with all that travelling, Bristol is the place for Josie to get away from it all to relax with friends and family.

She's since told me that all the guys have rallied round her now they KNOW she was telling the truth about where she was spending the evening. Perhaps they were just thinking it must be a lie because girls always lie. Whereas my daughter's experience is that it's the boys who generally do the lying. It's also perhaps beyond their ken that she might enjoy an evening in watching a DVD rather than going out drinking every night
BIB Yes, the irony is not lost on her!

Hope your daughter settles in okay.

Oh, and I forgot to say yesterday... about the tweet to JJ.....

I know a lot of you don't agree and don't want to hear this, but to me it was just a clear sign of her not holding any grudges to JJ. Initially yes she was hurt of all the lying that went around and everything was a mess and this told that, and that told this, and he told nothing and he seemed to know everything while no one actually knew anything......

So she was hurt and probably felt a bit betrayed. I mean yes, of course JJ was John's friend but that doesn't mean that he wasn't Josies friend too. They were all friends, they were living a while together. Josie and John James let him move in to their apartment. JJ was Josie's friend too, when all is said and done. And while JJ's loyalties may have lied with John James, there really was no need for any lying though. I think JJ was put into a really akward postion to beging with for not saying anything and lying on behalf of John, so of course Josie felt a bit dissapointed by his actions.

So, even though Josie was annoyed that John did all the things with JJ that he didn't do with her, or whatever, it doesn't mean that she hated him. And she did right after the break up tweet out that no one should send any nasty stuff to JJ, cause it's not his fault at all that they broke up and that he has been nothing but a good friedn to them both. So yes, initially I think that Josie was dissapointed and maybe felt a bit betrayed that JJ had to lie about John being in UK on May, but I do believe that to Josie all that stuff that went on with JJ at the time is water under the bridge now...... It don't matter to her anymore and I think that is what those tweets to him (or the wrong JJ) were.

I'm not saying Josie and JJ will be BFF, but they can be civil and have a chat if they would ever bumb into each other somewhere. Cause at the end of the day, when all is said and done, JJ is not the reason Josie and John James broke up.

Actually a lot of people do commute between Bristol and London. BUT why shouldn't she stay in London and be available to go partying as well as doing all the work she does? She seems to be coming home to Bristol when she wants to, to see her friends and family. It's good to have a bolthole when you need it. What's brought this discussion on anyway?

Ibruprophen does it for me. GD is fine, he enjoyed Saturday even though he only made a couple of hours. He did well. Yesterday I had no internet sound and other probs - had to close everything right down. Things here are a bit manic and I have to come and go. On phone alert with GD when I'm not with him and it was our Claire's 29th birthday yesterday so she came over, then Pete and Nicola came in the evening, how very dare they, and they forgot to bring the photographers pics for hubs and I to preview
Dr has prescribed paracetamol and exercise - so here I am back on the lappy.
