“In fact, the update success rates we’re seeing look so good we’ve decided to open the spigot ahead of schedule, and make Windows Phone 7.5 available to 50 percent of eligible customers starting right now. (Why not 100 percent? Because we’re still collecting and analyzing installation data from our smaller operators, and need to watch it little bit longer to make sure everything is OK.)”

I didn't get a notification on my phone, but I did when checking via Zune. Installing now.

Looks like a name change for one of the Nokia phone, or else they kept this one quiet.

Nokia Sun leaks with 3.7-inch AMOLED, 1.4 GHz CPU, and 8 MP camera

Quote:
“Its name was leaked alongside some specs, and it’s expected to hit Orange France in November. In fact, its release is pegged to happen during the 46th week of this year, which starts on November 7 and ends on November 13.

The Nokia Sun will have a 1.4 GHz single-core processor, 16 GB of built-in storage, an 8 MP camera, and a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen. It will come with a micro SIM, just like Nokia’s entire WP portfolio is expected to, apparently in a move to make switching from the iPhone 4 easier for consumers (and to save some space, we’re guessing). The Nokia Sun will have a unibody polycarbonate shell, which is another way of saying “fancy plastic, similar to that found on the N9″.”

Just one query...micro sim means small then the 'standard' sim which is a mini sim or do I have that wrong ? Just wondering, assuming I havent, how this effects folks wanting to buy handsets SIM free.

Yes, microsim is smaller than the usual one. You can order one from your network operator or take scissors and make one

haha, I cant see that ending badly for me at all....never could cut out without going over the lines. Could be a bugger if you brought a new phone and didnt realise and then had to wait for a new sim card.....

is anyone who is on Mango having issues with mobile data stopping working intermittently? it could just be a transient local o2 issue where I work, but when my mobile data takes an unannounced holiday my workmates on o2 say their data is fine...

I have just realised that Mango is for single core devices with 800x480 screens. Shame, WP had better sort this out pretty quickly. I take it that the Nokia phones will have to comply with this as well.

Funny you should say that. I have been using beta Mango a couple of months and the only problem was that twice or three times IE started to display the pages scrambled and I had to restart it. This did not happen yet with the final OS. Yesterday I had a problem with the final version when it was showing 3G data, but could not download with IE any page I tried. Emails worked fine. Could be an IE issue...

There is an agreed standard that manfacturers need to adhere to.

800x480 screen didn't stop Samsung Galaxy S2 from being a great hit. It started with Apple and their "retina display", they tell you you must have it and anything else is shite. Well, it isn't.
