This the the official 3rd single to be taken from her album 4. I'm so happy about this and think it's one of her best tracks ever. The production, just everything about it really. It's released on October 30th. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X4Doi0Acss

I hope this does well. Brilliant song, I hope the video will do it justice too.

I'm so happy, I adore this track. Countdown and End of Time are the highlights of 4 for me.

Countdown is very apt at the moment too with it's lyrics, now she's announced that she's pregnant. Especially in the line towards the end of the chorus;

Still the one I do this 4
I'm trying to make us 3
From that 2
He's still the 1

I'd imagine she will show off her small baby bump in the video too.

So cute

She filmed this a few months before anyone knew she was pregnant and possibly even before she knew herself so i don't think a baby bump will be seen at all. She filmed about 4/5 videos back to back so i don't think a baby bump will be seen in this era.

Maybe, if the video is great, it can after all help the song grow on me.I seem to be the only one who doesn't like it.I just can't get into it!!I hope the video will be different from her past work and I also hope that she won't abandon 'Party' because, while it's not my favourite from the album, it's a song that I would like to be a success because of the 90's influences.

I think it will do good. If she plays her cards right. It could be a top 10 internationally. Plus, I think Party will be a single in the future, but I am glad it isn't one now.

'Party' is a single RIGHT now. It's a US urban single and it's not going to be released internationally.I just personally think, however, that 'Countdown' is an urban song as well, so it's going to overshadow 'Party' and create a mess of a single campaign in her target audience.Btw, I don't think it can reach that level of success tbh.It just...can't.(no shade, I'm just saying that her fans already have the album and that there's no way 'Countdown' can branch out to so many more audiences to get to the top 10 worldwide)

I'm confused. What do you mean "another" flop? The album and singles have performed really well.

I agree. It's so 90's. I love it. His part is pointless but Andre 300 and Kanye's slight contribution really give it something as well.

Yeah definately Party needs a single release.. im sure shes made a video for it so who knows?

But Im SUPER happy with Countdown being released. Im just a little sad that this era is kinda ending so soon due to her being pregnant etc. Like she wont be doing a world tour or anything for this album etc.. tbh the fact Beyonce is taking time off to have a family is the ONLY reason Rihanna is releasing ANOTHER album. You can never have them two having a new music era at the same time.

I love Countdown!

glad its a release! ANd i really hope the video is as slick as the production of it

Also hope End of Time will make a release soon. Maybe have Love On Top released inbetween as she has a video filmed for that too.

And of course Party, i really like that too It still gives me memories of the past summer on the beach and in the back garden Its a lovely little number.

But Countdown for next release....definitely another top 10

I love Countdown but it's got nothing on End Of Time - by far the best on the album IMO

I love Party, Love on Top, I Was Here and 1+1 too. I think RTW and BTINH are actually two of the weaker tracks from "4".

Finally, a great single from 4!
Run the World (Girls) was good, and I hoped for an album along those lines!
Then....
Best Thing I Never Had came along and just reeked of mediocrity in my opinion, and it didn't perform as well as they hoped. Just when I thought it couldn't get much worse, 1+1 popped up.
If they were wanting a big ballad I don't know why they avoided I Was Here and released too mediocre ballads instead. Countdown brings the fun element back!

To be honest, out of the all the potential singles, the only one I don't really like is 1+1. The rest I absolutely love! I hope she releases them all (Love on Top, End of Time, Party and Countdown), just because I hope the general public get to hear such great songs. And if she gets through all those, I think I Was Here would also make a good single, it's rather a lot like Halo, and it occasionally appears in the top 1000 on iTunes, so it's quite popular.

Talking about iTunes, Countdown is in the top 300 already. Hopefully it'll be in the top 100 in a few weeks.

1+1 was never a single. Also, Run The World and Best Thing I Never Had didn't flop at all. Run The World got a lot of criticism, but it didn't flop. The album and two singles have all sold well.

With all due respect, RTW was not only a flop in terms of the critical reception. It just didn't sell well and it heavily underperformed. The only main chart where it hit the top 5 was Belgium , so it did underperform a lot, especially considering the huge promotional push that it received. And the same applies to BTINH.It got great promo, but it was only very successful in the UK and in Ireland. The radios were eating it up (it charted at airplay charts a lot) but people just wouldn't buy it!It had the exact same success as 'Ego' and I've never heard of anyone calling that song a success
I don't think she has flopped or anything, but I don't really think that her singles really worked for her...And even '1+1' which was a promo single, had a video and plenty of promo, yet the interest was just not there...I don't know why, though.I actually did like BTINH and, bar the video, I loved '1+1'.Anyway...

RTW did alright in the UK, it outsold alot of her singles. I think she has picked the wrong singles so far. End Of Time should've been the first single

Countdown is my favourite song from the album, but I think Love on Top would have been a better choice, especially after her high profile performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.

She has definetely picked the wrong singles.I think she and her team were absolutely shocked by the negative reception of RTW.They really thought it was the commercial song of the album And then BTINH, whilst one of my favorite songs on the album, is simply not strong enough as an album launching single, maybe not even a single in general.'1+1' being released as a demo single was a bad choice too because it was completely different to RTW and the album seemed to be a complete blur...

I think either EOT or 'Countdown' should have been the lead single, then a strong ballad and then 'Party'.It would have given a clearer picture of what her album was all about. And the whole album would make much more sense if RTW was replaced with 'Schoolin Life'

I would've done this

End Of Time
Countdown
I Was Here

I think those 3 back to back would have been strong. If she releases those as the next 3 then i'll be happy.
