Just been reading the 'Shannis'..... er I mean BBC soaps messageboard and all you see is "Shannis this" and "Shannis that." Why do people think this combination is so fantastic? In my opinion it is one of the worst combinations Eastenders have made.
For one I find it hard to believe Sharon would even entertain the idea of getting it on with her adoptive brother. Before anyone starts I know they aren't blood related but that isn't what I am on about here.
Sharon spent years wailing and whining about how she didn't have any family left and how she would give anything to have them around her again. By a miracle she gets what she wants but then jepordises that by jumping into bed with Dennis despite her family's disapproval and chooses a quick fumble with a bloke who has a track record of "eats, shoots and leaves" with the women of Walford over the family she yearned for so much.
Also there is all the stuff she went through with Grant and Phil....... when it comes down to it Dennis is just as bad as them and I would have thought Sharon would have had enough of these types of men and would have wanted someone more dependable and safe.
I for one think that EE have ruined Dennis by putting him into a relationship..... more often than not when a soap character gets put into a relationship they become as dull as dishwater........ just like the dreadfully wooden Zoe. Look at Kat and Alfie, they seem to have lost the spark they once had. Dennis was a far more enjoyable character to watch when he was a bad boy. I would have much prefered EE to have expanded the storyline of his relationship with Den..... don't even get me started on what a waste of time Den's return seems to be as they have turned him into nothing but a sad old lech trying to recapture his glory days.
Back to the 'Shannis' thing. I just don't get it
and the only argument people on the BBC boards seem to offer is "Oh he's so fit" or "They are so cute together." BUT WHY????? In my opinion there is no spark whatsoever between them and Sharon is such a boring character anyway that I find 'Shannis' scenes painful to watch.
So am I the only person who is sick to death of this Shannis hype?

The girl must be a saint, I don't think I would be quite so forgiving no matter how much that person had changed.
- if he can go with a heiffer like her, he can go with anything....
