9300T retune problem.
Following the major freeview revamp last night my 9300T will only pull in 40 TV channels the source being the Mendip transmitter. My freeview Tele works fine so it's not a signal problem.
Any ideas? It's said that doing a first time installation will fix it but how do you do that? |

Perhaps the best thing is to try a manual tune.
First though you need to zap all existing channels into oblivion. So go into the Edit Channels option in the menus then Select All and the Delete. Do it for both TV and Radio channels. Then select Manual Search in the menu and enter the five UHF channel numbers for the muxes. On Mendip these are 61, 54, 48, 56 and 52. You can't get the HD mux on a 9300 so no point trying that one. This is explained in the manual on pages GB58 and GB61. The Default setting option is described on page GB62. If you don't have the manual then it can be downloaded here http://www.humaxdigital.com/global/p...9-0626_low.pdf See if that sorts the problem out. |

Thanks for response. After a long battle I'm thinking it's a signal strength problem. The channels that won't tune are at a tenth the radiation power of those that do. However my Hitachi freeview TV will tune them!

According to the Digital UK website the 3 COM muxes are supposed to be getting a power up today in addition to moving channels.
http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/postcodec...ion/west/main/ Then another power increase next year. Perhaps today's power up wasn't too great? Have to say though that my 9150 seems to be a tad more sensitive than my telly. But then again my telly may be especially deaf ![]() How are your 9300 and TV connected up? Do you plug the aerial into the Humax then out of the Humax into the TV? Or do you split the feed and have separate feeds to both? If you feed the Humax from the aerial how is that done. Does the aerial downlead plug directly into the back of the Humax or does it go via a wallplate? If there is a wallplate involved have you checked the condition of the termination on the back? And are you using a decent cable from wallplate to Humax. If the downlead goes direct to the Humax then check the termination of the plug. If there is anythiong wrong with the termination of the cables or you are using poor quality cable then that could have an effect on signal. If it is a bit marginal then it doesn't take much to tip it over the edge. |

The mysterious thing is that the channels worked before the revamp, but I've tried everything including manual tuning.
May take a fresh look at it another day. The 9300T is separate to the freeview Tele which also has satellite input via a Foxsat box both fed from the house network tried and tested over many years. Perhaps full power levels haven't yet been achieved. |
