Samsung Galaxy Skin phone has bendable screen

Just had a read of this article.

If they do bring out a phone like this, and no reason why they wouldnt. Then the design of phones to come can be endless.

Watch the youtube video in the article, it certainly is worth it.

The idea of it potentially being able to mould itself around your wrist is probably the best [and only good] thing I can see from this gimmick right now [purely for the should-be improved security].

Other than that... Meh. I hope [for their sake] that it's easy to 'flex' back to a familiar, rectangular form!

I would have thought the biggest advantage would have been slimmer phones. If you looked at the youtube video clip, some of those screen looked paper thin.

As for flexing back to flat rectangular form, I think they do. Again going by the last screen in the youtube clip that was bent, yet back to its original form.

Other companies have demonstrated foldable screens for several years. But nothing has come to market.

I suspect what will really happen is that the technology will allow manufacturers to put a larger battery into a phone which is no thicker than current handsets. With the bonus that the phone will withstand more twisting. (and stop the 'My phones screen cracked and I didn't do anything' threads )

Really? I've never really gotten the appeal of ever thinner phones myself [aka so light, and so small that it'd be real easy to forget it's even on my person].

Though maybe going from a Samsung Tocco Lite to a Samsung Galaxy will 'enlighten' me. Maybe. -shrugs-
