How did you manage to turn the pages one handed like that with a paper book?
I didn't, but I did use to on my Hanvon.

I picked up a Kindle 4 today from Currys and have to say I'm very impressed with it so far. I think that my only slight criticism would be that pressing the central button on the navigation key whilst reading a book doesn't turn the page.

The most comfortable way for me to hold it one handed has my thumb right over it and since it doesn't seem to do anything else whilst reading......
I tend to hold it at the right hand side so I manage to turn pages 1 handed NP.

I don't see why a future firmware update couldn't add the d-pad the ability to do that.

Does anyone know when the Kindle covers are going to be in stock? The official ones.

Yep, it's only a minor detail and I agree, something they could add in firmware. They couldn't use the sides of the D pad because they're used for other things, but the central button isn't used at the moment so should be a minor change. Other than that it's a great bit of kit.

Holding on the side in a way to get easy access to the page turn forward isn't that comfortable for me, although rotating the view so I hold it 'upside down' puts it in a better position

Nope, they were listed as being available on 23rd November, now they say Out of stock.

Ridiculous sales policy in my opinion, a lot of people will want a case and lots of people will go else where now as non-official ones are popping up every day. If a decent lit 3rd party one appears I'll cancel my order of the official one.

Quality Amazon case
Cheap eBay case

Hmmmm. The Amazon cases might be a ripoff but I'd still rather buy them.

I ordered one of these covers with my Kindle.

It's really good and I would highly recommend it.

Never been a fan of covers as they add bulk and weight. I would rather just use a sleeve as it offers protection while in your bag and so worth but easily removed from it when reading.

I went for http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...A1LDWOMMIBUAVJ at £6.90 plus delivery on Monday with Prime.

I like that I can take the Kindle out of it easily for reading (so avoids that bulk and weight if I don't want it). I'll let you know what I think of it when it arrives on Monday.

I bought the Kindle 4 at the beginning of last week. It is my first e-reader, so I don't know how much better the other models are or not. I love it! I can read it easily, I can turn pages easy, it's light, I bought a fab comfy case from Amazon... What else do you want from an e-reader???
I can't fault it! Battery life since buying it is just above halfway. I've downloaded lots and read three books so far.
I read more now I have this little machine than I read paperbacks. I take it with me everywhere

The case I linked above arrived today.

Very pleased with it NIce sturdy clasp, easy to put the kindle in, still light, and the material of the clasp easily folds back so doesn't interfere with page turning.

I bought a new Kindle while I was down in London, love the smaller size. When I first saw the pictures for it I wasn't keen but it definitely looks nicer in real life. I'll switch between the two (4 and KK) and take the new Kindle with me when I'm out. I find it quite easy to hold in one hand but wish the middle button or one of the navigation buttons could be changed to turn the pages, for example pressing left/right taking you to the next/previous page rather than the next chapter. I also bought the cheap case linked to above, looks half decent and will do for now.

Which case, there are two

I really do enjoy being able to download samples before buying on E-Readers. I think sales of books will go up because of that.

The Kindle cover is finally in stock and mine came today, first impressions are good. The cover is more plastic than leather but I knew that from the reviews, it's still a good quality cover and doesn't add much weight/bulk to the Kindle. You can hold it like a book or fold the cover right back so you can still hold the Kindle in one hand. There's no strap so the cover does open if not lying flat but I don't think this is a major problem and again I was aware of this before I bought the cover. Overall though I'm pleased with it and as for the price, it's simply a case of if you don't like the price don't buy the product. There's plenty of cheaper alternatives that do the job just as well, I still wanted this cover though. It doesn't even come in a box, just a plastic bag.
