New phone mid-contract

I will in the next month be 12 months into a 24 month contract with T-Mobile. The original phone they gave me was a Nokia 6700.
My circumstaces have recently changed, and I need a better specification Android phone.
What is the chance of my negotiating another phone from T-Mobile....if say, I agree to start another 24 month contract?

I don't think you can do it. I did this last year and in order to change phone mid contract I had to buy out the remainder of the contract which was £175 and then start a new contract again.
