I know that this will only be of interest to those of us who are into installing custom firmware on their Android phones but SE have just announced the are supporting the FreeXperia team:

This is great news and means we will get a very good version of Cyanogen Mod available for our Arcs, Plays etc. Even if you would never consider a custom ROM it is good news as it looks like SE will be learning from the developer teams. It would be good if the other Android manufacturers followed suit.
