Since digital switchover, my 9300T will not record.

Set a recording, looks like it's doing the job (REC on the display), then no recording appears in the list afterwards.

Followed suggestions on other threads (checking for duplicate channels >800, full reset etc.) but to no avail.

EPG line-up is from a single transmitter site (Sutton Coalfield) and was manually tuned to ensure no others were included.

Firmware is the latest (rev .26).

Anyone any clues?

Hard to be sure on the evidence provided. Can you pause live TV? Can you play back previously recorded programs?

When you say "full reset" do you mean you went into the Installation menu then selected the Default Settings item? This should sort most issues out.

Once you do that it will automatically go into an auto channel scan so you may want to abort that and retune manually. You will also need to reset things like the SCART video mode and TV type settings.

Pause / playback - Yes

Full reset - Yes, gone into the menu and selected default, then done exactly as you state, stopped the auto scan and manually tuned.

Hmmm two threads about recording problems with 9300s after the software update. Wonder if there is a connection. Though other posters have said they have had no issues so who knows?

I've got a 9150, not sure how much it has in common with the 9300 and it appears to be OK after the update. Though I might double check when I get home this evening...

I am still not sure but my best guess is that it is a file system problem and that can be fixed by formatting the disk from the HDD Control menu.

When the problem first manifested itself I found the box was still on firmware rev .19, so upgraded to .26 using the serial port, but the problem persisted.

IIRC the only difference between the 9150 and 9300 is HDD size - 150G or 300G.

Formatting is a last-ditch and I need to extract a load of recordings first, but I've found information and a utility to make the drive readable by a PC so might do that and try the reformat route.

Bit more than that.

The 9150 doesn't have the front panel display of the 9300. Nor does it have the same connectors on the back. Just Aerial in/out and a pair of SCARTs.

Not sure about the internals though. I suspect there is some common ground between the two in the core functions.

If you are going to go down that route you might first consider using Humaxcheck from http://humaxdisk.wikispaces.com/HumaxCheck and see if that reports problems. If it doesn't then chances are that a reformat will not be helpful.

Thanks for the suggestions, the box is now working OK.

Used the PC utility to extract recordings, ran HumaxCheck and it did show half a dozen file size errors so just reinitialised the HDD from the Humax menu and it's now recording fine.

I think that i'm going to have to reformat myself.
How easy is it to extract programmes from the 9150 onto a PC?
Any tips for a technological numpty?

All I did was buy a SATA<>USB HDD dock, making the drive accessible from the PC (note it's not "Windows" FAT/NTFS format so it doesn't appear as a drive under Windows).

HumaxRW did the rest, very simple utility that does what it says on the box.

OK, not drag-n-drop simple, but still very easy to use.

Well, I wouldn't use the word 'numpty' but I'm hardly a technological genius, but I found it very easy (once I worked out what I needed to do) to transfer from Humax 9300 to PC, Format, transfer from PC back to Humax 9300. I've been having some difficulty with my Humax 9300T recorder. The problem is that it now fails to record most pre-recorded programmes: i.e. if I highlight Countdown for it to record, I'll come back later and find it hasn't recorded.

If I I've read one of your previous posts correctly you had a similar problem. I've tried doing the Installation/Automatic search numerous times but to no effect.

I'm no techie so am I correct in saying you physically linked your recorder to your PC via a USB lead and uploaded your programmes to avoid losing them when you then used the HDD function?

Has this still worked?

What you want to do is a manual tune not an automatic tune. Search this Forum for instructions posted by Big-les numerous times.
