surround sound wrong

I have a Toshiba tv, and I just bought a test disk to play in my dvd to test the speakers.
When it says front left or rear right, (well any combination), the wrong speakers come on, and all the speakers I plugged in are in the right holes.
I can't think of what to do, I tried the setup of the tv but still no luck.
HELP!!!!!

I suggest you either try the disk in someone elses system (to check the disk isn't faulty) and/or try the TV with a DVD that has surround checking already on it. Disks like the Star Wars I and II have a THX test section which perform these speakers checks also.

Good advice, but a wrongly calibrated test disc must be a rarity...

Is your TV and DVD set properly in the audio menu?
