You don't need one. If a task needs killing you can do it via your application settings, but Android manages its resources perfectly well by itself. Some will disagree. But if you feel you need to install one, go ahead.

I agree, no need for anything other than the built in task manager....

No point in having one.
Besides which, if you kill something that needs to run, it will only start itself again. |

You can set it to kill just the tasks you want to kill and to kill them at time intervals. People keep saying you don't need to kill them but I find my Vega and Defy run better when the tasks are killed. |

The fact is, my phone and tablet run slower with all the apps loaded, whether they are running or not. I wouldn't use a task killer if it did nothing. |

I think you missed the words "in my opinion" there.
Fact: Tablet and Phone go slow until Task Killer kills tasks. I see memory usage go up from 150M to 250M. These apps start for a reason, no point starting if they are not doing something. |

It's not opinion when it is based on fact.

In my experience - and the experience of many other people - task killers are not required. But hey, if running one makes you happy, enjoy yourself. |

When I was using 2.1 I noticed a massive improvement in speed when I'd press the Kill button. A slow running phone would drive me round the bend, I'd press Kill and it would run perfectly.
However since 2.2 I've noticed it doesnt make much of a difference and it works quite well. My 2c. Mark |

It is a fact that my phone and vega run faster after killing apps. Why do you think the apps start up? Do you think they just start up for no reason and then do nothing? Does your tv just come on and then not show anything? |

I honestly see a difference when the apps are killed. |
