O2 service in Glasgow area
Anyone else had no service with O2 in the Glasgow area the last couple of days?
I've never experienced any problems with them before, and all of a sudden it keeps either saying 'Searching', 'No Service' or showing that I have service but then not letting me send text messages or phone anyone. |

See if there are any known problems or planned engineering work on status.o2.co.uk .
If not give them a call and they'll take you through troubleshooting. |

Hey, thanks for replying. I have done both. Apparently they were doing work earlier in the area, but it says it was fixed at 10 this morning!
Also, my SIM card seems to work in another phone I have so it must be my iPhone. Maybe a little trip to Apple! |

I've never experienced any problems with them before, and all of a sudden it keeps either saying 'Searching', 'No Service' or showing that I have service but then not letting me send text messages or phone anyone. I've had exactly the same problems since Thursday night. I live in the Kelvindale area and just couldnt get any service at all. Although, when I went into town, it was fine! I called O2 yesterday and the guy told me that I wasn't the first complaint from that area. He told me to turn off my 3G and my phone and it worked fine (but no 3G internet so slow unless connected to wifi)....and at least I can now make and receive calls! Basically showed that there must be a problem with the 3G in my area. They are going to look into it and said it would take about 5 working days max to fix. The guy told me to keep turning on my 3G now and again to see if its fixed. if not, call them back after 5 days. This may be the same for wherever you are so try turning off your 3G in Settings like I did and see if that works. Hope this helps.... Jonny |

I doubt the issue lies with the iPhone, it is probably to do with O2s 3G service which is dire at the best of times.

O2's status page shows there is a site down at the moment.
Most of Glasgow city centre 3G is covered by an NTL turn-key solution rather than O2's own sites. If this is being worked on it would affect a large area. |
