Leona's new album is going to be released on March 26th 2012, very far away!

What do you guys think of this?
Hope she still going to be on the X Factor!

Disappointed, but have had time to digest it now. I guess it all comes down to when they release the second single, I mean if they wait till next year to release the single then it's a big mistake. They need to keep her in the spotlight, she can't just fade away again, but we all know how lame her management and label are so we'll just have to see.

It will be interesting to see who's big next year in terms of her comeptition.
Emeli Sande drops her album a month before so she's ok there but Madonna is expected to maybe drop her album within the first quarter of the year.

I think releasing it next year is a better plan. She will now avoid competition from the likes of Susan Boyle, JLS, Rihanna, Florence and a few other predicted big sellers.

Delaying an album weeks before it's release for a further 6 months is not a good sign.

Is she re-recording a new one? I don't understand why they have pushed it back at all, nevermind that far.

That is seriously too far away. I wonder why this has all happened, Collide didn't flop that badly for it to delay the album :/ Is she still releasing a second single? Will she be performing on XF? So many questions, very little answers.

Thats the thing, there's never any communication and we're always left wondering

It must make it hard for casual fans to keep interest.

It didn't do badly in the UK, but it pretty much flopped everywhere else. I suspect this delay is to think up a new launch strategy for the album.

Eh shes expected to be performing on both x factor Uk and USA so im guessing a second single will be out around that time - Simon definitely would not pull her from the USA x factor as she represents the show and Collide will have been out too long for a live performance to not have taken advantage of the slot.

Seriously do not understand why they just don't give her a ballad to sing...its what she does best. She revitalized Run by Snow Patrol, just get her an anthemic ballad like that and she'll be selling albums by the bucketload.

I just don't get why they've done that. It probably means we'll have to put up with the likes of skanky Cher Lloyd cluttering up the charts.

The only harm this will do will slightly give her lower sales. The xmas period is so good to release an album because usually all the top 10 albums manage to sell 100k or over.

With the album being so far away I can't see her being on The X Factor at all but I agree with little-monster that atleast she'll have less competition, though her sales will be lower. Hopefully during the next few months she finds a single that will make more of an impact than Collide.

March? FFS.

You know, I honestly do not care any more. They were taking too long as it was, but this is taking the mick.

I wish Syco got their act together. Hopefuly the rumoured second single 'Trouble' will still be released late November/December and that we will still get an X Factor performance. It would be a terrible mistake not to release anything else this year.

WHAT???

March is like when Madonna's album is coming and the only artist who will be getting headlines during that month will be her.

This is very bad planning from Syco.

Have to say, as a Leona fan, I'm really gutted! It's another 6 months of waiting. They could have made another album by that time (maybe they are doing exactly that). I thought by delaying it they would have put it back like to January, which is only an extra two month and then "Trouble" could have been released in the coming months. But now I see no new material coming from Leona until atleast Late January/early Febuary.

Atleast if this album takes off and does well then no one can say Leona relies solely on the X Factor to launch every new album. Every cloud, I suppose...

This is all getting worryingly Shayne Ward-ish.

I guess its good that shes releasing it in March away from the X Factor hype etc so it will show how much she needs the show to promote her material etc

but like yeah, march is reallllly far away! But I have faith she will deliver a good album

All good things come to those who wait lol. After initial disappointment I am still hyped up for Glassheart. Just loved her performance at G.A.Y. and can't wait to hear new material. I think I am most excited about Blank Page, Trouble and Glassheart but I think the whole album will be brilliant. Bring it on Leona. Although I would love to see Leona on XF, not to worried if she isn't (unless it is for a new single), she wasn't on XF last year either, after all it is a good thing to get away from XF brand the way the show has lost its way (just my own thoughts lol).

I think if she performed on the semi or finals in the X Factor US & UK then she could release the single the next week. That would give her January time gone and then she could release the last one a week before the album. That could work, she needs to perform on the X factor she needs the publicity.

I Love Leona hope the album is worth the wait!

While I am not happy with this I think it may be for the best. SyCo have stuffed around saying they don't want ballads for the album whch is silly, it's what made her famous.

Also fans complain when artists issue a re-release within a year of the original album coming out. They could have released Glassheart in Nov then re-released it in say June 2012 with the new material but people would be crying foul say they are greedy.

What I don't understand is, why is it so effortless for Olly Murs to release 2 albums and numerous hit singles in a year, whilst it's always seems to be so difficult for Leona

Because Leona's music actually has quality to it. Olly Murs's music is bland and lacks creativity and imagination.
