She has had 3 weeks to learn that dance - what on earth is she going to be like when she only has 1 week to learn the next one

Can it get much worse ??

I wonder how "elegant and professional" Anita will look when she's doing a fast latin...

I'm no fan of Lulu, but Brendan's choreography was to blame for that disaster -- it was too fast and complicated for a first dance.

Thanks SarahV1308 for your 'insider' info - so jellussh you were there!

I understand what you mean about her being out of hold, but my guess is that she was good enough in training for him to decide to do that. I'm also pretty sure that Lulu has covered on stage the song that they were dancing to and maybe that was a big mistake - but only when the moment came.

Despite her experience I think the nerves got the better of her and I suspect this will have been a huge shock for Lulu.

I liked the dress by the way and it was quite restrained for a Latin dress - and it was a Latin dress, so it is a bit unfair to compare it to Anita's elegant Ballroom gown.

PS I can't believe I'm sticking up for Bloody Lulu!

She definitely had the Drunk Aunt At A Wedding factor

May have been nerves ~ I hope she improves.

I think this quote from the other thread should clarify:

Er - why are people writing off Anita's latin before she's even done it yet? Sorry, Cherie Lunghi may have done a dodgy salsa, but her cha cha cha was pretty good (and certainly better than that overmarked tripe by Lisa Snowdon ...).

Brendan wasn't to blame for what happened. Lulu screwed it up herself - Buddy is quite right: he wouldn't have given her those steps if he didn't think she could cope. After all, she's always saying how she wants her independence ...

I thought it was the costume designers who decide what is worn not the celebs...with possibly some tweaking of the design if the celebs feels uncomfortable, etc

I have to agree much as it pains me to say it. I had my T-shirt over my head at one point it was so painful. Sorry Lulu!

I think the people who are given the walz as their first dance are very fortunate, especially the women, as they are half-way there to start with and most of the time are being led by their partners. Anita's dress was very beautiful and elegant which gave her a headstart anyway.

Some people are unnecessarily cruel, but let's hope next week Lulu's performance knocks everyone dead. That'll show them.

It was very interesting to read the post by SaraV1308 who was there.

Last night I didn't have all the photos of Lulu to add - I have now - and you can see how lost she is in the choreography ! Such a shame.

Having seen Lulu's training video and then her performance last night, a mention for the BBC Makeup Department, they should certainly be up for award... Or should that be; "The Special Effects Department?"

Alas no... but I'm always humming "Donald Where's Your Troosers", so who knows, I might have some Scottish blood in me somewhere after all.

How did it all go so wrong, after 3 weeks of rehearsing? I'm not a fan of Lulu, but still felt for her as she looked so lost and tired! She is a 'seasoned' performer and it must have come as a shock to her that she gave the worst performance of the night! Hopefully she will throw herself into the rehearsals and practice, practice, practice.

Even the opening titles didn't do her any favours, it looks like she bumps into Brendan!

I totally agree, she forgot the routine very early on - but being the trouper she is she made the best of a bad things and good for Brendan on just winging it with her. She said on Twitter that she was gutted she had let people down - I bet she is really out of her comfort zone and not used to failing - maybe this will be a good lesson for her . . . .
