I fail to see how anyone can say the choreograph was bad - we only saw about 30 seconds of it and then it was all just improvised wiggling . . . .

What Lulu laughably terrible?

Lulu the singer, Lulu the songwriter, Lulu the actress, Lulu the model and Lulu the business woman was laughably terrible.? No. A mistake. Surely? I heard Lulu myself on the VT. Lulu's multi-talented.

I forgot about that!

She doesn't exactly lack confidence, does she?

She missed out; Lulu, the self-obsessed.

Nothing the GBP hate more than self confidence! She is already quite the hate figure. I don't really know much about her but I thought last night she came across quite well when taking the judges' criticism and despite having virtually no support (seemingly) from her pro. Robin would have been hugging her! Love Robin...

People on here have already decided "she wasn't trying" but that's quite difficult to gauge.

Or misplaced over confidence.

Yeah, impressive list of achievements........ Apart from climbing on the back of a Take That hit in the 90's, she hasn't appeared on my radar since the mid 70's.

A safe bet that some people watching last night will have Googled, to see who she was.

Very disappointing - I think Lulu has got some dance talent, not sure about Brendan's choreography, should have done more in hold. Anyone can have a bad day at the office and I'd like to see her last for while in the competition so I'll vote for her a time or two, but won't go on voting if she's useless.
Hello.

Bit off topic, but with Lulu on this show with Harry Judd, I keep thinking of this clip from Duet Impossible years ago when McFly performed with a young Lulu (who turned into older Lulu at the end).

From where I could see, she was trying a lot - her mind had gone blank, she had obviously forgotten some steps, this had thrown her and somehow or other she had to stay dancing for the rest of the 90 second slot. I wish Brendan had gone over to her more and tried to improvise some accompanying movements, but maybe she had already warned him not to - allowing her to carry on.

I remember a few years ago when Matt Di Angelo just walked off the floor and sat down on the steps - at least Lulu did not do that!

Don't forget Matt Di Angelo didn't say he's multi-talented.

Lulu bigged herself up, and let's me honest, she fell flat on her face and everyone was bound to laugh AT her, not with her.

Not true! Plenty of reasonable people on this thread have shown how wrong you are.

Lulu wrote 'Imagine' dontcha know?

I do feel that Lulu is treating it all as a big joke.

Maybe she isn't as good at ballroom dancing as she thought she would be so feels it's safer to play the comedy card.

Having said that, I don't like contestants to take themselves too seriously. Anita seems to have got the mix right this year.

Hopefully she will throw herself into the rehearsals and practice, practice, practice.

Even the opening titles didn't do her any favours, it looks like she bumps into Brendan!”

But how often in the past 25 years have you seen Lulu performing? Does she tour? Does she release any new stuff? Does she bother to do anything but live off past glories. The last thing I remember her doing is Relight My Fire with Take That.

Didn't she do a tour recently? In the last couple of years.

It was 'Here Come The Girls' with Chaka Khan and others.

So are you saying "Good for her. It must take courage to do something completely different in front of a huge audience"?

Thing I don't get is, Lulu took a risk doing this. She is unquestionably a big name, love her or hate her, and does have a solid career behind her. She didn't need to do the show. Now she has, and it's rather embarrassing so far. First show she acts like a diva and las night was...well...

I thought she would take it seriously as she is clearly a determined woman. To my mind though, she's given up already.

Bad boy mon capitaine - she climbed upon Ronan Keating's back to record "We've got Tonight."

How Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton must have laughed.

Since when did singers only have to sing original songs?

This is what Lulu said, according to the Radio Times last week, when asked "Are you dreading anything?", she reponded
"Blanking. At my age, things come and go, and I'm terrified of forgetting everything."
So, she obviously knows that she has got a memory problem.

...or an 'I can't dance very well' smokescreen
