Lulu was a 60's child, the beginning of the music revolution really, she screamed, could not sing like her counterpart Cilla Black. We did not produce that many good singers even then apart from the magnificant Dusty Springfield, most of them were one hit wonders, Helen Shapiro, Marianne Faithful, Sandy Shaw. it was the american females that dominated the scene with the tamla motown sound, Lulu and Cilla Black were rubbish, Dusty was brilliant
