Kinda like how every English person I know always has a go about the Germans. And the French. It's good-natured ribbing until someone starts taking it seriously.

Well yeah you'll get a negative response if you make a generalisation like that based on one person's comments which have been refuted by several other Scottish posters in this thread.

Yup. Agree. Have always found it utterly pathetic to vote on nationality - is really insulting to what the people on the programme are doing!

blind devotion of this kind just indicates a lack of intelligence and thought to me.

She's about as Scottish as Dame Edna Everage, although she can put the accent on when she wants to.

I saw a prog on Yesterday last night where she was interviewed back in her 20s and she sounded totally English then.

She was totally crap tonight and I hope the gobby bint gets taken down a few more pegs. She's so full of herself and never knows when to use her ears instead of her mouth.

Not even the slightest little bit.

I'll vote - if I vote at all - for someone who actually impresses me with their dancing, and it will have exactly hee-haw to do with them coming from Scotland.

NO!

Not Lulu and not anyone else simply because he/she is a Scot.

I didn't vote for any of the Scots named, other than Darius. I happened to think he was by far the best singer in Popstars ( yes, I do know there was no public vote in that show) and I've continued to support him ever since.

I'm english and I voted for David Sneddon because he was the best in his series.

I voted for Darius Campbell and Will Young in their series as I couldn't choose which was my favourite but couldn't stand Gareth Gates.

Michelle McManus got the sympathy votes from a lot of people because of the weight jibes she suffered from Pete Waterman and the press.

Leon Jackson got a lot of votes because of the sob story (doing it to give my mum a nice house/life etc cos she struggled as a single mum).

Cameron Stouts popularity soared after he made the quip about wanting to put his thumb over that annoying womans windpipe (which was especially funny for a devout christian who had spent a lot of time in the BB house defusing arguments between others).

Jonny Gibb I've never heard of.

I rarely vote for anyone, but I certainly wouldn't vote based on nationality.

I am Scottish living in England - proud to be British.

IMHO the reasons for voting are
who you thought was best
who you thought has tried really hard and improved a lot
at this stage I can't see Lulu falling into either category

Actually OP voting for people simply because they are Scottish does not make a great nation at all ,It makes a nation of at best mediocre , at worst hopeless artists .

Totally agree. I am British rather than English. I would vote for Lulu if she was the best ummm but she wasnt

I couldn't care less about nationality on a show like this (I'm another Scot btw).

PS I'm too busy being upset at the rugby.

I'm Scottish and I wont be voting for any of them because it would cost me money.

Why would you vote for her just because you're Scottish though ? She hasn't lived there for most of her life, and she doesn't appear to be any good at dancing either. In any case I don't think there's many that like her as a person - a bit of a diva by all accounts.

It is very refreshing, for a change, to actually hear a Scot admit that 'the Scottish vote' does exist, because usually, most are at pains to deny it's very existence.

Sadly it does exist but it is nothing to be proud of

Maybe not, but there are a great many reasons why people chose to put a vote a particular way - it's no worse than voting for someone because you find them attractive, and that goes for personality as well as looks. I imagine that what would be considered (on this forum, where many take this show very seriously) a worthy vote is less common than an impulsive vote.

Really, it doesn't. There isn't one Scot of Scots who rings us all up and tells us how to vote.

I'd been hoping Lulu would be good, although probably in a Bendy Felicity kind of a way. Not because we share nationality but because she's only a few years older than me, I grew up with her being in the pop scene, and because I'm the same height as she is but the same weight as Russell Grant - but if I could have voted them OFF yesterday, I would have. She was dire and he didn't even pretend to try.

I can understand that, although I do like her, but you must agree that many Scottish people will often vote for their own.

I am just watching her now.

Oh dear
