People don't seem to realize that the Lulu show used to have over 20 million viewers on a Saturday night, I didn't know that until I saw the Lulu documentary the other night, a phenomenal achievement.

Yes she was one of the biggest start in the UK for most of the 70's and was even big in the USA for a while

There was so much in the Lulu documentary that I didn't know about her, I must try to watch it again, I particularly loved the glowing tributes from the Legends Sir Elton and Sir Cliff, not many performers would get tributes like that from such legendary icons.

Yes, she broke the costume dept's budget and the special effects dept's budget for dry ice!!


Don't forget Brendan also had to keep Lulu in hold. That first week she saw her carer at the end of the dance floor. He doesn't want to risk her wandering off in again in geriatric daze.

Lulu's dress was gorgeous, it shows that the costume department can deliver the goods when they want to, unfortunately they are so inconsistent, Lulu is improving week on week and thats what the show is all about, good luck to her.

I agree that the costume dept. sometimes produce a naff frock.

Lulu had a lovely aqua coloured dress for the foxtrot and a lovely purple dress for the cha cha. But Lulu's frock on Saturday was naff. I know we saw in in close-up on ITT but on the dance-floor it looked like a couple of tatty rags.

Your quite right about the aqua dress and the purple dress, it was the aqua one that I thought was gorgeous, I quite liked Lulu's dress on Saturday but I didn't see it close up on ITT so I will bow to your superior knowledge. It must be quite scary not knowing what you will be given to wear, but there again girls do like to have a bit of a dress up all the time.
