IPTV on XBox

Can anyone confirm what you can pick up on an XBOX 360 channel wise? someone recently told me they can get Sky Go on their Xbox but can you get Iplayer, 4od etc?
Unfortunately I currently have no Xbox to check but if I can pick all of these things up then I may look at getting a 2nd hand one if they are cheap and easy enough to set up for this

Just SkyGo at the moment.

No iPlayer, 4OD or 5Replay.

cheers for that, i have sky go sub anyway from my sky contract, is it easy to set up or are there additional subscriptions to XBOX Live etc I need to pay? I have seen used XBOX's for about £40-£50 so this might be a good little idea

ah, ok cheers for that, im not really into gaming so would be buying it just as a sky player, looking at the cost i would be better off just getting a fetch tv set up

BBC iPlayer, LoveFilm, 4oD, Demand 5, YouTube, Blinkbox, AlloCine, Crackle, MSN with MSNBC.com, MUZU.TV and VEVO.have all been confirmed for Xbox 360.

It'll be an IPTV powerhouse!

When will this go live?

Was thinking of signing up to Lovefilm again for Bluray rental but if the xbox version is the same I might go with that.

looked at fetch, seems unreliable, so the xbox thing looks like a goer, reading betweenthe lines I just need a 360, internet connection and 'gold' xbox live membership?

According to the report on this site:
Quote:
“In the UK, services including BBC programmes, 4oD, Channel 5 and LoveFilm will be available over Xbox Live, some of which will be free for all account holders.”

I'm guessing the free services will be BBC, 4oD, etc, things you can already get for free/you are already paying for. and then Sky, lovefilm, etc will require a Gold Membership (Sky currently does)

I'm surprised Spotify hasn't made it onto the 360 yet.

I'm guessing the bbc, ch4 and ch5 stuff will be 100% free without need for gold as they are already free if you use them on your PC.

As for love film...etc they might be free to download and install without a live gold account but then to get anything you'll need to subscribe to that particular service as you would if you were using them in other ways.

Be sure to get a 360 with a hard drive. Sky Player is a downloadable app. There are some older 360s that come without a hard drive.

Xbox Live Gold membership is a subscription to the premium version of the 360 online services.

It costs £40 a year or £15 for 3 months. You can pay either by credit card of buy top-up cards from all major gaming retailers.

Minimum internet connection is 2mps but faster is definitely recommended.

With Xbox you also get access to Zune Marketplace which allows you to rent HD or SD movies (approx £5 and £4). These can be downloaded or streamed depending on your connection

Yeah, i might have to actually switch my Xbox back on and make use of the Gold account I've not used for months even though it keeps on renewing :S

Sky recommend a minimum of 2Mbps for their service on Xbox, so that's a good guideline I guess.

That's good, i've got a 11-12mb connection.

Also do you need Kinect with it or can run a normal controler or remote?
