more on XF..he's definitely at his best with it. ..Uninvited is so perfect for his voice you'd swear it was his song..in fact I think it is now!! I don't like him either.. Have to say though was surprised that he was a Matt fan prior to XF and loved 7S and Darwyn!! So on the strength of that he's gone up slightly in my estimation..still a Prat though!! Matt is so versatile though isn't he?.....that voice he can Sing any thing. I was thinking whilst watching that little impromptu set..I can imagine him doing 'An Audience With' on TV... Now there's a thought!!

Yes I meant AFN re it's better than I thought (which wasn't hard) but I was going to comment on Uninvited as well and say I'm not particularly keen on him doing any more covers at this stage. Maybe in a year or two but so far you have the XF lot who want him to do FT, together with the Biffy cover, and the Barlow single - I'd really be happier if people were talking about his own songs and not yet another cover - however good it is.

Someone was going on about NIWS being better than the original (which it really isnt) when I was flicking through - and I just wanted to scream!! He's got 10 amazing original tracks on the album, plus Sparks and Chemical - can we not be talking about them!!

for those going to KOKO's, just to let you know I've confirmed with The Cobden Arms that they'll put aside a table for us with a sign saying DSMCAT I said we'd probably start rolling up about 5:30, but if anyone's going to be earlier than that I expect the sign'll be already there; I don't mind coming a bit earlier either.

I know there's a few that are going straight to the venue - how will we all meet up? (that's if, you want to ). Haven't done anything about where to go after the gig - maybe we could ask the Cobden about that too?

(Cat and Cardie, I saw from twitter where you're staying - the walk up York Way to your b&b is quite long, and it's all uphill, hard work if it's hot and you've got bags - any of the buses going north from the stop outside Kings Cross at the bottom of York Way go there, ask the driver to shout out the Agar Grove stop)

Cat and I have decided to grab a bite at KX then treat ourselves to a taxi. I dont want to hold people up with my eating requirements if they want to queue up! It's so hot I'm not taking a jacket so I don't have to wait for the cloakroom. I expect we'll be at the pub by 5:45.

relieved about that Cardie!. The lady at the Cobden was keen to emphasise to me they do good Thai food if that's of any interest; I'd imagine it'll be pretty quiet at that time?

I love his new songs; however he is such a skillful a nd adept singer that his interpts are great to my mind. However I loved his songs that he did sing I suppose he could not sing anymore of them and was asked to wait until the proper launch on 3rd Ict.,.I would imagine but then who am I I am not privy to the nicities of the music industry.

Hi Mita, what a great report. Glad you got to meet him, so many people are saying how genuinely sweet he is. I think he really appreciates that his fans are happy to travel long distances to hear him play.

dunno Moomin, hadn't got that far, apart from thinking some might want to queue early to be sure of a place at the front. I think I'd like a different perspective this time though. Guess we could play it by ear - see if there's a big queue already when we get there . . .??

I'm not keen on Matt doing any more covers either. Much as I like Uninvited I would still prefer him to be singing his own songs for a while.

I think the label or management will tweak the band a little for the XF gig. They dyed his hair and prettied him up for the album cover and promotional photos. I wouldn't mind if he showed up looking like that, in fact, I think it's a pretty good image.

EDIT I didn't like the shirt collar up thing he had going on at Clyde, like the checked shirts though but prefer collar down.

I'm not too worried about being at the front - so I'll just toodle along to the pub and and see if anyone is still there ..
