a) abandon the MCAT on the X Factor Forum, leaving a goodbye note and directions to our new home on the Music Forum

b) stay here on the X Factor Forum and continue as normal without creating an appreciation thread on the Music Forum

c) create an appreciation thread on the Music Forum but also keep the XF MCAT active (this would probably work out as follows - post news and general chat on XF MCAT; post news on the Music Forum thread, plus some chat but keeping the overall tone slightly more serious)

Vote will close at 11:59 pm GMT on Friday.”

I'm sorry but I don't see this as the right approach at all. If someone wants to start an AT on the music forum (and I think it's a good idea) they should do that, but I'd prefer if this thread just did or didn't do what naturally happened. so I'm not going to vote

yes, that's a good point....

perhaps this requires some rethinking

ETA - OK, option b) has been amended

I agree with this statement. If someone chooses to start a thread on the music forum that's completely up to them and people here who are not keen can remain here. It's as simple as that really. So i don't see the point in taking a vote on it.

I'm sorry guys but also don't like the moving idea very much either..I get the whole getting away from the XF connection, but it is 'The Matt Cardle Appreciation Thread' ..wouldn't it just be the same but in a different forum..or am I being dense??

H Cabbie

Ive just caught up and yes Diamond has made a very good point. I agree that quite a lot of the chat we enjoy on here would be counterproductive on a serious music thread!

I think perhaps option C is workable.

Sorry about my own contribution to last nights smatt (my smileys arnet working again but "Red Face")
I can only blame the alcohol and the "Stir Crazy" effect of being stuck indoors for 8 days in the rain!!! Sorreeeee!

Thanks Toasted but why use an old pic from the XF tour?! glad to see the reviewers have finally noticed what we spotted months ago "using his best tool ...to entertain the crowd"

I saw Matt at Koko last night. It was awesome. I knew it would be short, just a preview gig, but after 45 minutes of bliss, I was left wanting so much more. I stood under the balcony where this year's X Factor lads were. They must hope they can live up to Matt's excellence. Matt was amazing. Dressed in tight green shirt and cap, he looked like the rock star he is. His vocals were stunning throughout. The audience loved him, they were rapturous in applause. He looked so happy and relaxed. His guitar playing was superb too. He has a lovely, natural rapport with the crowd. It was a truly wonderful evening and he is the brink of being a world wide super star due to his talent. His vocals were flawless and he sings with such passion and commitment. Loved it. Well done Matt.

Popdash normally use a pic of him drunk so it's a big improvement

Matt began with Letters, then played Pull Me Under, Stars and Lovers, Jolene, Nights in White Satin, All for Nothing, Run For Your Life, When We Collide and Uninvited - though not necessarily in that order. Others too, but these are the main ones I can remember. Each one went down well and the audience loved his blend of guitars and soaring vocals. Superb album launch gig, truly wonderful.

Also, being under the balcony, I could look straight up to see Mr and Mrs Cardle, aka his mum and dad, looking as proud as punch. They were just bursting with pride, and rightly so. There are millions of people on this planet, and only a handful have true stand-out talent. It takes talent, hard work, dedication, maturity and empathy - they all come together to lead to excellence - that is Matt Cardle, the musician.
