ITV Player on Android Honeycomb''_

What a train wreck my life has become.

I'm staying in an Anglican Retreat in the Docklands for the weekend, so no TV. Rather a predicament given the seriousness of this mornings rugby game. As its my birthday, I got a tablet as present, an XOOM that iz not viagra. I wanted a Galaxy, bu you can't get them n the 3Gvarient, at least not with 32gb, so a xoom it was.

The thing comes with Android 3.0, but it upgrades to 3.1. Trouble is that ITV Player wont install into anything les than 3.2. (or 2.2 on a phone). BBC player is fine. Installling these generic players seems to be the only route to watching TV on a tab, so a cofee bar it was..... good match it was though. You somehow knew that either side was going to score the only try in the last 5 minutes.

The point of my post, and the question is why ITV player is so demanding on Android version, is it due to regionalisation? I notice in the t&c there's a permission to access the gps, so in theory it knows which it region you are in, that you are in the UK and an itv license area.

I was pretty fed up with the prospect of missing England v Scotland, and if I wern't guest of a religious establishment would have cursed Motorola, Google, ITV and the nuns all the way to the try line. This isn't funny, and I refuse to buy an I pad.

Any comments and suggestions, however abusive, would be very well received.

Download the justin tv app from Android Market. You'll be amazed at what you find on there. Some of it might not impress the nuns though. Or perhaps it might...

I have a motorola Xoom and Itvplayer works fine for me.

It cannot access your GPS if it isn't activated.

I set whatever post code for whatever region I want and it works fine.

Mine has been updated to 3.1

Look for new update in November...

Thanks, must be me then. The error that I'm getting is from the amazon market download page, it says that ITV Player is incompatible with both my devices, one of which isthe EMEA version if the Xoom 32gb 3g tab, and the other is an HTC smart phone. I suppose that 've got to wait until november then and the 3.2 upgrade. Trouble is of course that the rugby world cup will be over by then!
