Yes, it's very hard to think that the extremely "dull" "Taking Chances" album was by the same artist who produced such beautiful performances on record like Call the Man.
I think in her earlier years, the songwriters were chosen more meticulously in order to highlight her fabulous voice. Indeed, up to A New Day album, each record was jam packed of stunning tracks that clearly demonstrated her vocal range.
From One Heart, her direction changed and the people writing on these albums, while good writers, didn't necessarily suit her range.
I did like Celine very much from the Think Twice era right up to A New Day, but sadly she has changed her style and concept so am no longer a "must have" fan.
