The whole series in 20 words? I'll give it a go...
RTD had turned the phrase The Doctor into a meme like he did Bad wolf, and The Moff took 2 series to kill it. Nope, 4 words over but I genuinely believe that that has been the whole point of the last 2 years. 'The Doctor' had become a meme that was more important in the whoniverse than the character himself, as seen with his interactions with the Atraxi in the very first episode, his asking the alliance who would attack first in The Pandorica Opens and, indeed, was the primary reason the Silence were against him. The whole last two years was merely the final nail in the coffin of the RTD era - an era which saw memes from day one, with Bad Wolf, grow to become the central theme of the series. |

You could have watched the final 10 minutes of TWORS without having watched anything else and it is understandable.

I know I'm going to go over 20.
Rory/Amy have baby, baby kidnapped and trained to kill doctor, baby regenerates into River Song (she's part time lord because she was conceived in the TARDIS). Doctor knows he's going to die so visits old friends. Doctor avoids dying by sending a robotic changling instead. Doctor marries River Song who was arrested for a crime she didn't commit. |
